Hi people.
Before I get started I'd like to say that I am a complete noob really when it comes to discussing the inner workings of a computer, so laymans talk would be greatly appreciated.
Ok - so I have a Toshiba Satellite P505 laptop that runs on 6GB of RAM (I think 1.6GB shared video/graphics), and has a Intel core duo 2 T6600 @ 2.2GHz. I don't really know what graphics card its running.
It doesn't do games all that well. Does rFactor alright (usually 25-35 fps depending on what track) and Age of Mythology. I can only assume it would eat up Age of Empires III as my brother's laptop with less power and and extra 2 years on its age can quite easily. I have TDU and Soldier of Fortune: Payback and it doesn't really like either of them. TDU was bound to be a stretch, granted, but I would think I'd run Soldier of Fortune alright, as it says recommended requirements include 2GHz and 1GB RAM.
So - what are some things I can do to get these games up and running? Hardware mod suggestions are also welcome, as my birthday is coming up soon, but I understand there isn't much that can be done. The P505's chassis is pretty large because it's an 18.4" screen, so its rather large and there is some room to move around.....apprently....or somthing.
Anyways - help would be greatly appreciated as to how I could beef up m'laptop's performance.
