Help! (What's the best way to use Arcade Mode?)

Need some suggestions on getting the most out of the Arcade Mode in GT5. Lately I've been running into some strange (at least what I consider to be strange) issues with the AI selection in races.

I've noticed that when you use a "modified car" from your garage.., the AI selection can get a bit iffy. So with that being said.., is the best way to use a vehicle in Arcade Mode is to use it at "default" with no upgrades and so on?

What I've noticed (when using modified vehicles from your garage) is that you'll often end up against AI vehicles that out-class you. What I'm seeing is either out-classing or the worst case scenario of AI rubber-banding thus far. Slow in on the turns and super fast coming out and on the straights.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to best utilize Arcade Mode?
 
No but after reading this I might give arcade mode a go with a modded car as it sounds like it might make the AI more of a challenge for once.

The AI can be pretty easy to beat at times. I honestly think the Arcade Mode is probably best run with vehicles using their default settings. It seems the system doesn't do so well matching AI against vehicles you've modified.

To give you an example of how easy the AI can be in Arcade Mode when using a default vehicle..., I just ran a 5 lap race at level A. Started in 16th place (driving the Nissan GT-4 Calsonic). By the end of the first lap I was in 8th place already.:sick:
 
Put it in hard and run with the X1 and you will have a great time trying to catch up to the AI. Especially in Nurburgring. :) I have only won the race like 2 times out of 10 tries.
