help with 2004 mitsubishi l200 warrior alarm

My mums car alarm has been going off alot lately because of the rain, but on monday the car alarm would not disarm so she walked and brought a new battery for the fob but to no avail so she had to drive it home with the alarm going off is there a way to deactivate the alarm or to fix the car not accepting the signal from the fob? any help would be greatly appreciated.
