Hey guys, just got a little problem with my CD drive.

It's a RICOH MP7200A Cd-r/rw burner/reader. The problem is, it doesn't work anymore, which means I can't burn CD's:nervous: :grumpy:
I press the eject button, and the little light doesn't come on, and nothing happens. I've also checked in Devices/Installed devices in My Computer, Properties, and it is not there.
I've thoroughly searched the net for drivers and can't seem to find any.:ouch:

If anyone knows how to rectify this or can find the driver, could you please tell me what to do, or where to get the driver?

Thanks in advance.:)

Also, where possible, I would rather not open up the tower and tamper with the insides unless I know exactly what to do. Other than if the CD rom is unpowered, in which case I can refer to the manual. By the way, it's a relatively old computer, 15gig HDD, W2K pro OS (with SP4), 9**Mhz processor.

Yeah. That sounds like the power cable has managed to slip out. I'm pretty sure drivers have nothing to do with the physical opening of the drive.

Thanks Casio, I just opened up the case and found that the IDE and power cables were unplugged :ouch:

I also cleaned out the whole tower with the air compressor, and alot of dust came out:tup:

Thanks again bro
