Help with new gt6 update not installing

I go download the new gran turismo update all exited, leave it on overnight and come back to find in the morning that it is unfortunately still stuck oj this installation screen! Can anyone possibly help me to understand what's going on that is making it get stuck at the install screen like this?

Internet disconnection from the PS3. Try it again. Don't worry, the patch download is completed, you just need to do the hotfix update.

So how do i do this so called hotfix update you are talking about?
 
Simply open the game, and when the license screen loads, you should get a message to update your game (not the same as the patch update screen), it looks the same as to the picture you provided. Update the game and wait until it's completed. If you are simply brought to the main menu screen, it means your game has already downloaded all hotfixes.

Ok Fair enough it just goes straight to downloading but now this comes up every time i leave it to download
 
Does this error occur every time you start the game? Have you been able to get to the main menu?

It's leaning towards either game data corruption or no internet. Does the error message pop up instantly, or after being prompted to download the hotfix? And is your PS3 connected to the internet?

Yes it occurs everytime and im not able to get to the main menu, i just tried to delete all my game data and am in the process of re installing all updates to see id this fixes the solution because i did have a power out halfway through downloading the new update

Yeah I guess the corrupted update messed up your game. Good luck while you wait.

Im just installing the all the updates again tonight and it's taken 3 and a half hours and its still on this screen! I know it's got to install all the updates again but is this normal still

Update *i just looked at the lights on my ps3 and the wifi one is constantly on but the yellow hdd light is barely even coming on.. Could it be a hdd factor to this?
 
Is your HDD space full? Maybe it can't take the new size given this download is big.

But wouldent it have said before starting the installation that my hdd would be full? Could it be the case of a hdd malfunction or would that automatically geneea warning from the ps3 console itself
 
Does it blink yellow when you boot the game? Then I guess your save data is corrupted and that's causing the problems.

But don't do anything to remove it yet. Backup the save data and then see what you can tinker to solve it.

Dont worry just deleted a few bits of game data and cleaned disk and its all working perfectly now
