Help with NFS-shift, not in HD!

I need help, i just bought NFS shift for my ps3 yesterday, i played it a little bit but i noticed the game isn't in HD! But yet the PS3 itself is in HD, i have an HDTV it's only 1080i but i can play other games in HD. What do i have to do in order to make this game 1080i? It has the two side bars on the left and right making it look 4:3 or SD, standard definition. I want the widescreen! Please help me

do you have a HDMI cable for the ps3 instead of the standard scart lead ????
 
of course i have an hdmi cable thats how i'm able to get hd signals with the ps3- i dont use the red yellow white cables. thing is, i donno if it comes in SD or if i still have to upload the data pack or whatever, i don't know. But when i got the game it jumps to SD whenever i play it. none of the settings i set for the ps3 even apply to the game, it just stays SD. In game there isn't even a mode to let you adjust the picture. just the color.
 
that is strange sorry friend i have no idea
 
crap, i guess i will try it out some more, maybe i have to download the latest version of it or something

have you look in game options?
 
Set your PS to only play HD,its under video options I think.
 
i tried to do that. I think i will try again and see if it works. I d/l the update but it still has SD 4:3 not HD 16:9 it's upsetting.
 
looks like i got it to work, finally, had to reset the settings altogether- oh well, wish i woulda known that from the start

even so there should be no bars down each side of thr tv
 
I think the problem might be in Over-scan. Probably tv could have some problems with that.

First set the full HD 1080 in screen setting in your ps3. And then find overscan settings in your tv. Try to reset screen, maybe this helps.

thanks for the help- turned out i just needed to reset the settings in the ps3 altogether
