Help with polls

Hi im not very good with forums...I did a search but cant find how to post a poll thread...I see the poll options at the bottom but dont know how to fill them in..Im scared im gonna post a thread that says "poll" but there is no poll...thanks for any help.
 
I'm not positive if it's an option for you but in the top right corner of your post, there should be a Thread Tools dropdown that contains "Add a Poll to this Thread." After that it's simply asking the question, figuring out how many options you need for the answers and typing in said answers.

The Poll timeout is optional. If it's left at zero, the poll will never close. If you put anything other than that in, that's how many days the poll will be left open. Obviously if you make it too short, no one will have time to vote, so make sure if you're planning on having the poll end, you give it at least a week.

The last two options (Multiple answers and Make votes public) are dependent on the intention of the poll so those options are up to you.

Why not test it on this thread?, that way you can get some practice without people getting mad if you mess it up ;)

(Click thread tools in the red bar on top of your thread, and then add a poll)

More help required.....I know I get the thread tools after I post....But it seems while im posting there are none....There are options at the bottom for polls and they ask how many but I still fear of posting a poll without a poll....Do the thread tools come after ive posted....if i Check the options below will i get to fill in the post titles before it goes to the forum?
 
When you start a new thread and check the box that you want to include a poll, you must then type your post like normal and click Submit New Thread. The thread will then appear on the forum at which point you add the poll question and options as I mentioned yesterday.

Essentially, it does it the same way as clicking the Thread Tools dropdown - it gets added after the thread is actually created.
 
Thanks I thoght I was just been thick...Now I know I have to post the thread first then add the poll....It makes sence...A little backward but I can manage it ty...WHY are people votning on flipping the bird the whole idea was you dont need to vote on fingers.....LOL
