Hey guys ive got a quick question for you.Ive been drifting solo for a while and got the basics and everything down ect. But whats killing me is the tandem area can anyone help me out on how to be a decent tandem driver.maybe even a couple tips would be great. Thanks much guys youve been a big help in me starting off drifting:D

Practice using your ghost in practice mode. That way if you hit him, its all good just try getting close without hitting him, learn to control your angle and speed. If you want to practice with a real person, you can add me on PSN. ill give you tips and tell you if your doing anything wrong.

Good luck

If anyone can add on, please do.

- Tailing distance: Start at your own comfort zone. 1 car length between you and the lead should be good. Shorten the gap as you get better.

- Braking: This relates to the tailing distance above. Unless you got catlike reflexes and trust the lead car, prepare to brake from a moderate distance. If you can, follow his braking point. If he got the braking point wrong, correct it and come up with your own timing & catch up. Should be self explanatory.

- Drifting: Again, this relates to the point above. If your lead car sets up a perfect pace for you, do your best to follow his line, aim for his passenger side door (keep your eyes focused there) and try to get a good angle so you don't fall behind or over speed. If you feel like you're falling behind, slightly grip it or shift up and gun it with well controlled steering (This part really depends on your gear ratio).

- Exiting: Not much to say on this section. Just make sure you don't get bitch slapped by his tail for drifting so close lol. If he's a good drifter, its less likely to happen - really comes down to how much you trust him. Otherwise, slowly ease off and fall back in line... or pass him if you're competing.

thanks alot that really helped

I'm pretty good at drifting myself but it seems when someone else gets put into the mix I always seem to mess something up.

When I tandem, I just like to be defensive.
For example, in my head i always go what if he spins out, what if he goes too wide, what if he jams on the brakes early, etc etc.

If anyone knows me, they know i like to tandem reallllly really close lol.
Its all practice just go out there with some friends so people dont get mad @ you if you make a mistake.
