Just got GT5 and a PS3 for Christmas. I was super exited until I tried to go to "community" to get multiplayer. It said it was not available on my version. So I went to the menu. I tried to create a PSN account, but it said there was a DNS error. I manually changed the DNS to Google's free one (8.8.8.8, secondary 8.8.4.4) and went back. I went back, but got the same result. What the fruit? Error #80710723 or something like that. Looked it up here at gtplanet, it's pretty well known. I turned my router off, then back on, and tried again. Same problem. I then tried to update to 1.05. 2 minutes in, it said it failed. Tried it again, many times, same result. I am getting desperate. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! My router is a Linksys. My internet is Verizon DSL. Thanks! «

Try unhooking your router (hook the PS3 up without using router) to see if you can do the update (note: you should update your PS3 first). Can you go online with the PS3 now?
