I have just started drifting in gt3 and is there any thing special I should do with the car other than turning off the anti spin and traction control? wich car should I start with?

I first properly drifted with the S13 (1800cc). I just put sims on, and did a few upgrades like racing muffler and the best upgrades for Drivetrain (except gears i think).

Remember not to floor it when drifting. I used to do this and all i did was spin-out. Flohting Point's Pilot vid really helped me out, get it here: http://flohtingpoint.net/drift/pilot.avi

No, just use sim tires.
Disregard what battle said..
use any tires you want.. You don't have to use sims. use normal if you want just have the power to drift with them.. For some reason everyone around here thinks sims are the only way to drift/.....

I use 180sx type X
whit super soft front tires and super hard rear tires
front camber -6 rear -1,5 max lowered and max tuneup

Exactly.... You must use sim tires on a stock car....... as the HP goes up, the tires should be upgraded accordingly...........

;)

Battle... All you drift are stock cars... I dont drift stock cars. Mine have aroound 200-400hp on sims
and 400 and up for the rest of the tires.
You think everyone drifts stock cars?

No it's not impossible, it's just counterproductive.........

I would suggest you start with an S13 1800cc, stock on sims. When you are comfortable drifting with that, you can start upgrading the power, drivetrain, and then get used to that. Once you have the basics down, only then should you start experimenting with different HP and tire comboninations. It is very important to learn the basics (weight transfer, technique), before trying other combonations IMHO.....

I'm amazed. I thought the only video people on this board really watched of mine was my idtribute video. I'm glad pilot.avi was of use to you =)

hahahaah! its just funny how the thread starts. its like everything is going fine and than boom. argue there and here and than.........out break of a war. haha oh well.

hmmm.... lets see. ummm.... well just buy a stock car and turn off the asc and tcs and slap on sims. i find that easy to drift even though i dont favor sims.
or use the toyota supra fully tuned with asc 2 and tcs 1 that is all. good luck man

So you built a 1000+hp car, only to limit that power with traction control. I'm not seeing the logic in that.
same here

One main thing he should do after the power mods is upgarde the suspension.

What are you smoking? Seriously, lol. That LAST thing he needs to worry about it power.

In order of upgrades to do, IF ANY, it should go like this.

-LSD
-Suspension
-Weight Reduction
-Drivetrain
-Power

umm..sounds like an interesting thread to be apart of...haha

does it really matter what you buy first or second? Save money if u need to and slap on everything. Then go to one of those drift setting places and apply them to ur car.
