I really need help Drifitng on GT4, it was so easy on gt3, just slip some simulation tires on and it was great, but now its really hard Ill get into a good drift and counter-steer then the car goes into some sort of 're-bound' and spins out, whats a good type of tires and adjustments?

hey DarkWitness, welcome to the forums

all of your questions should be answered in the Drifting Reference link in my signature. Give that a read through and have another go. It details some settings guidelines and explains what happens in a drift, and how to execute one in GT4.

The biggest adjustment you'll likely have coming from a GT3 environment is, exactly as you said, the snap understeer. The only help i can offer in this regard, is don't coutersteer more than you absolutely need to, and practice. There's no simple answer, you just have to learn to cope with it - and realize what an acceptable amount of countersteer is, and what is too much. You'll get it with time, the new physics require some adjustment, but they are definitely improved over GT3.

dont foget to hit the search button if you have any future questions. A good deal of material has already been covered on this forum.

The smooteness should have improved then shouldn't it? Cause I normally adjusted my c/s alot in GT3, now I can't...............I think I'll too have trouble with GT4 drifting, and not speaking for the DS2 users wich can't c/s at all with that stupid little analog stick

b.t.w. Was your first drift vid. released on 8jan. 200>>5<<?????????!!!!!! I thought you had MUCHH experience, well you have but not a year I expected from you
only found out now, pretty late hah:sly:

im glad i didnt drift at all in gt3...

people that have done so seem to be having a much harder time than those of us that jumped straight into gt4 drifting.

While it's true that you need to adjust your technique in GT4 for drifting. Understanding weight transfer and other things from GT3 would've been helpful. Either way, have fun!!!

Good techique is what really helps, MY advice is to learn weight transfer, throttle control, brake control, and proper drift techiques. Practice helps too. 👍

I've had drifted seriously in GT3 for better than a year and a half before i released that vid, but had no means of recording what I had done. No digital cameras, video cameras or capture card until i treated myself to an ati tv-wonder-pro on boxing day. I kinda wish i had waited on that vid and captured a better lap - but oh well. I was just so excited to have the ability to get something out.

like the others have said - the basics of drifting in GT3, those being throttle modulation, weight transfer, and technique all still apply to gt4.

I agree on all points. Especially practice!
