Ok, Me being a nice uncle, lets my oldest nephew (9) play GTA:VC whenever he wants, on one condition.... when he uses my save, he doesn't save what so ever! He can save on his own "game."

So guess what happens. My youngest nephew (5) starts playing unsupervised, and thats right... My oldest nephews game gets saved overtop of my current game.

I was close to 65% complete... and now I am back to 40% Oh yeah... I was mad. But you can't blame him, he is only 5 and I should have been wacthing him. So I played all weekend trying to get back to where I was... but I have gaming to do.

Just wanted to vent!

I've never played the game, but my understanding is that it is a pretty graphically sexual and violent game? Yes? No?

Now... Five years old?

I think you should have a talk with his irresponsible dad.

well if you explain to the child the game is fiction, it's okay

This is the basic understanding. Its pretty surprising the answers you get if you ask them if they would do that kind of stuff in real life.

He just walks around and punches people anyways, and there are plently of games you can do that in besides VC.

So you think five year olds have a pretty good grasp of reality, of consequences, of right and wrong? I'm not so much thinking a five year old is going to run anyone down, or shoot someone. I'm thinking more of the subtle influences that shape a child's moral development and how the parents makes those decisions.

I mean, there must be a line between what is and what is not appropriate for a five year old. If not in front of VC, then where? What is inappropriate?

Nothing should be considered appropriate or inappropriate!:banghead: Censorship is stupid!
Let the kids see what it's really like so they know what is going on when they are confronted with it!

I disagree with this. What is a parent's job then? Also, what is in VC that will help the little guy out in the future?

So there's two questions there. Will somebody answer both?

Kids shouldn't be playing M-rated games like GTA: VC, even they didn't know if was rated Mature. You shouldn't be letting kids do whatever they like to do in M-rated games, you'd get in trouble for neglecting your duty to tell them it's a Mature rated game.

hmmm, this thread took a turn I thought it might! Oh well! I still think it sucks my game was erased!

I think it sucks too. Another reason to keep five year olds away :p

I have no problem letting anybody play any game they want, AS long as they know real life from a video game.

Plus a 5 year old is a little young to understand all the sexual content, dont you think?

Hopefully he learns that cars, when drove of buildings, crumple like a piece of paper:D

If your kid ever feels repressed, he can come on over to my place for a night of drinking, burning stuff and playing violent games.

I think a session of Vice City with M5Power would set him straight (teaching the kid how to drive responsibly  )

Where's your common sense, all you people? Look directly at the game's rating and then you'll understand! :irked:  :odd: :banghead:

That doesn't mean anything... hell the 5 year old bought the game for me!

J/K  ;)

I guess there'd be no debate if people didn't think it's acceptable, even good, for a five year old to play Vice City. Why not rent them some porn instead of watching Sesame Street while we're at it.

But like I said, I'm tired of this debate. Morons can't be helped.
