Well im 28, 3 kids and been married for 10 years now and i have never taken a vacation. When i was a kid we were just super poor trying to get by and there was just no chance of a vacation so i have never really been anywhere to do anything vacation related. My kids are 5,4, and 2 so my wife and i are going to leave them with my mum for about 3-4 days and actually have some adult time for once:tup: I am sharing this because it might interest someone here. I have searched for movie/tv show sites that were shot at that are fairly close to us to visit. These are all things that i like and my wife could care less about but she likes the idea cause its different. I am planning on going to see the cabin that evil dead was shot at, the boars nest from dukes of hazzard ( original series, not the horrible movie they made) and a few other sites that were shot within the first 5 episodes in GA. Also going to see a few places from smokey and the bandit 1:tup:


These are a few of my favorites that are fairly close to me here in AL. It should be a good trip and i will have pics to add to my collection of things i have from the movies/shows, like for the dukes i have 2 brand new never worn watches from 1981 still in the boxes! Woot! So if you like the idea do a little research and see if anything was shot near you that you are into. If you find something and you plan a trip post what your planning:)
 
When you get back, you should take the kids on a little road trip (presuming you drive) or just a little break away at some point, It does wonders for thier little minds. I was deprived of a holiday until I was 10.

Hope you enjoy yourselves on your little private break :) The movie version of Hamlet was shot at Blackness Castle which is quite near me, thats the best I can think of. Problem with Blackness is, You wouldn't want a holiday there, It's full of dead things.

I wouldn't mind a holiday with dead things, wife wouldn't like it. My kids get to do everything mate, its us that never get to do anything, so we are going :) My mum is the only person we have to watch them and she has only watched them maybe 4 times since my first was born, and shes 5. And im counting everytime too. Our anny is usually us sitting at the house listening to the kids fight while we try to watch a movie....
 
I wasn't getting at you when I mentioned the kids, I agree with you though, it can be hard to find someone to look after them, and we all need some time away on our own.

I was in San Diego once (2002) it seemed alright. Holiday Inn or something like that.
 
That's a pretty creative idea. And if you have a wife that will do things like things like take a trip to the Evil Dead cabin, good on ya! 👍
 
If you're going to be near Atlanta "Stone Mountain" is a nice place to visit. The detail work on it will amaze you. Also doesn't cost much try a goggle search for it.
 
Won't really be far from atlanta at all when we go to foulton county, atl isn't too far from where i live anyways. I will google it, that might be the think that she gets to see :)
