I have yet to see someone talk about the music for GT4?

Personally, I think that the browsing music is going to still be that dance/jazz type...or who knows more trance-like seeing how all the gt4 videos are mostly trance-like..

wonder how the in-game soundtrack is going to be like..

This is semi-related to the post. Its an idea I had the other day. What if you made a product that was like a special memory card. You put it in the PS2, then put a music CD in the PS2, and it allows you to transfer tracks from the CD to the memory card. Then you could load up a game that was compatible, and it would let you use your own music in the game.

Of course, memory cards aren't big enough to hold many songs at decent quality, so you would have to work that out, and you would have to figure out how you could make it so you could still run 2 memory cards with it in... and you would have to get all the game publishers in on it so that they could make their games compatible... but a cool idea nonetheless, right?

:odd:

I could care less about the music. I say forget music altogether and focus on the cars sounds such as more realistic engine and tire noises.

GT2 music was my favorite gt game as far as music went. In gt4 they should have some good charlotte but they wont because of the lirics.

Good Charlotte?! Insane!

Music should be dealt with when everything else is completed. I like the menubrowsing music in GT3. The in-game music sucked for the most part.

Put in some Stone Temple Pilots and Tool and I'll be happy.

I agree that the music is less important than the gameplay and the sound effects, but still the music can do a lot for a game.

Funny how I can't think of any good examples though. :odd:

maybe if gt4 goes ONLINE maybe therell be a thing to get music online??? would that be cool?

no, no it would not be cool. I dont know what the big deal is, as long as u can turn off the music. I just play the music i wanna hear in my speakers and play gt with the game sounds only, its the only way to go, and if u still dont like the music than ur an idiot, plain and simple:D

Yeah I do think that'd be cool, but in light of the recent actions of the RIAA and such, you would probably either have to pay to download the songs from some 3rd party, or GT4 would have to buy the rights to the songs and offer them to download. I doubt that either will happen, just too much legal stuff to worry about.

Would be very cool though, and I think it would go over well. You'd have to take into account the technical aspect of where would you store the downloaded music and all... very interesting though.

I hope Isamu Ohira gives us some exciting new menu tunes in GT4. He's never disappointed me before... he's an oasis of talent, and I can't wait to see what he has in store for us this time.

well theres a video that i saw whee it showed peopel playing gt4 and when i lsitend closely i heard the same menu tunes... dunno if itll stay... but sorry hehe i heard the same tune

You never know what'll happen. After all, the PS2 Hard Drive is out in not too long. You can rip music to the XBOX HD and play it ingame, maybe Sony will implement something similar.

Ah sweet, I hadn't heard about that before, but that is exactly what I was thinking of. That would be really awesome, I would enjoy having whatever tunes I wanted going.

the only music I need will be the throaty din of tuned exhausts and hard tuned induction roars.

Who doesnt turn the music off straight away, anyway.

Half life, Metal Gear solid, almost every Final Fantasy game and I even have to admit that the music in Initial D makes the game.

As long as they get the Inroduction music right, i'm not too bothered (Like the Pal version and Japanese version of GT3, or the American Version and Japanese version of GT2, all great intros, with well fitting music). The only ingame music that usually stands out in the GT series, is the menu music (ok barring that Jazzy rock stuff on the older Japanese games, that really ownz0red), but I know they'l stuff the American version full of crap music anyway (Ok, this isn't true always GT2 had some decent tracks and there were a few in GT3 as well, but you know what I mean), to appeal to the mass market.

Yes, the music will get turned off after a few days no matter how grood it is.

I always turn the music off anyway. Its pointless, as pointless as having a Ford Ka in GT.

please tell me your kidding. good charlotte are very definately the worst band to grace the top 40 (or whatever) at the moment. i truly hate this band and HOPE im missing sarcasm.

they either need psychotic japanese electronica or the brutal death metal. i turn the music off anyway. the music in gt3 is ****, as it probably will be in gt4. gt1 and 2 are a little better.

i reckon some new thrice would go ok, that **** is wicked, yet melodic and accessable enough for the average joe with no idea as to what constitutes good music, much like our friend here.

ok, you are one to talk, japanese electronica? anyway I say screw music, improve the engine sounds. I want the engine to scream at redline, not sound like your shifting at 3500.

they need to put in some good old stereomud cause if they dont i will just turn off the music and turn on the stereomud. (I love this smiley)

I agree, I have the music shut off, so I can hear the engine rev and tires squeel( dorifto ).
Oh, and Dudy, Good Charlotte is hardly music. ( oversimplified drivel ). ;)

I think it would be cool if you could tune into radio stations like in GTA. Then, you could flip on the tunes when you got bored (like, oh, say, the "like the wind" race). It would also be nice to hear some real bands as opposed to the electronica crap that seems to make it into most video games nowadays. My suggestions: Metallica (old, that is), NOFX, Testament, NUFAN, Unwritten Law, Millencolin, Strung Out, and Lagwagon. That would be a killer soundtrack!

You make a good point Klostrophobic. Oh, and I usually have the music turned off, but I might turn it on durring the replays if there was TOOL. :D

Tool Rocks!!!

GT4 is not going to support the hard drive, as of last press meating. I wish it was going to be supported but it doesn't look like it.:(

Meating? lol, sounds like a meeting for pigs or cows...
