So this is a new stand alone game, based on DotA (Defence of the Ancients, a mod for Warcraft 3), and it's currently in closed beta.
Never played DotA myself but I'm enjoying this game. The learning curve is pretty steep so I'm getting my ass kicked, but I have some friends who play DotA and they're teaching me the basics. Basically it's two teams, from 1x1 to 5x5, and your final objective is to destroy the enemy's base. Each player chooses a hero to play with, which are divided in three classes: Strenght, range and agility. Each hero has a set of spells, and there's lots of different items you can buy to it throughout the game. That's the hard part, knowing which items are good for each hero and in what order to get them. That will also depend on which heroes your team mates picked and the enemy's heroes too.
I have two spare invites if anyone's interested. I may get more keys eventually. Just post or PM me your email address.
