Hey, I've posted on here a while ago, and I was a jerk that raced dirty.

I've since learned the error of my ways, and race fair.

I just want to say that it's really frustrating when people brake in front of you or intentionally bump around. What is there to be gained?

That said, I've rediscovered GT5Prologue and it's such an incredible game. I can't wait for the new track set-ups in a few days. The Clio is SERIOUS!!

Welcome, good thing you change your ways!
I get bit annoy as well with punters. Best way to avoid them is at Profesional Racing online. Seems Standard mode has more of them. As well just ignore it, never take it too personal, there should be a thread here to Post PSN IDs who tounts you the most.

Hello,

Fairly new here myself and just wanted to say hi. I'm really struggling with the online racing and the cheaters. (I used the search function and found this post). Anyway, I do my best to race clean but am frequently running into people that will push me off the track when they should be braking for a turn (I'm assuming this is the punting that everyone refers to?). Is there any way to offset this? or better recover from it? I brake and turn as best as possible but usually wind up facing the wall in the sand.

Any links that people may have would be much appreciated. I used the search, but didn't find much. I'm probaby not using the right words to search.

Thanks guys. And also my ps3 name is quickegt, please be patient with me if you see me out there, I'm still learning.

All we can do at the moment mate is put up with them :grumpy: but the best revenge is to pass them cleanly and then beat them that feels great 👍

Greetings from Finland!

This is my first post here, but I've been reading this forum sometimes and decided to reply under this topic. I was wondering how this GTP-posse was fast as hell and same time their racing was clean and polite, and so I end up here... :)

My driving is still sometimes insecure and car might spin for minor reasons, but it's never an objective to ruin someone else race. That just happens once in a while as few gamers from here have noticed. ;)

Sorry my english. See you all in a track someday!

Welcome new guy's. There are a few strategies I employ to avoid contact with "erratic drivers". First, just know they exist and never acknowledge them through on track revenge or by sending them a "thank you" note. When they get no reaction from you, eventually they go away. Second, when passing them, always have your wheels pointed away from them or when passing on a straight, keep your wheels straight, the penalty system seems to take this into account when determining who hit who. Third, when entering a braking zone and you feel you are going to get hit, change you're line just before you get hit, he will overshoot the corner. You may lose a little time taking evasive action, but you probably won't see him again that race. Fourth, check the GT5:P race events sub-forums. You'll find join times for the more popular on-line events. At least you'll have a chance at getting a clean race.
Remember, we're all here to fun, so don't sweat the things you can't control.
Hope this helps you,
Russ

Tervetuloa/welcome! goods to see that more Flying Finns are immigrating here.. and no pressure about driving skills, it comes with time and practice, especially if you're new to using the steering wheel and pedals. 👍

Cheers Russ, I'll bare that in mind should I dare head for the Suzuka 750pp later, there always seems to be about 50% of the field that are complete nutters around there.

Although one thing I've been doing lately is sitting behind the pack of jokers that seems intent on bashing each other about and just waiting til they wipe themselves out...which is quite a regular event  And while I'm here I'd like to apologise to anyone that I may have accidentally tapped during races, nothing malicious, just a lack of talent on my part, I do try and be as clean as poss.

Anyway, hope to see some of you on track soon,
Chris
