From my observation at LeMans and the ALMS ( LMES don't have any factory teams. ) I see the amount of factory teams tumble. Today, the only factory to race is the Corvette team. Bentley, Audi, Mercedes and Caddilac left. Ferrari left awhile ago. Porsche got rid of themselves in '98 after the flip at Road Atlanta. but if you think back to 1995, 1996, 1997, and 1998, the FIA indroduced a great series. With both porsche and Mercedes duking it out. McLaren right along. It was great. Factory team galore. But its as if factory teams have been un-inspired into racing anymore. I mean, endurance racing is great, but its getting boring. We all know one of the Audi R8's are gonna win LeMans this year. But the GTS and GT classes seem to be the best racing. With Corvette as a factory team and Prodrive not, it still is good. But there is 1 factory car in GT class would be that horrible looking-failing-to-win Morgan Aero 8 thing. But what are you'lls thought on manufactors ditching endurance racing?
