The subject makes sense after you read this and see the pics...

So, I'm playing GTA4, trying to beat some missions and such...
Then I hear "errrrrrerrererrr....erhkh....BAM BAM"....power goes out...power comes on 20 secs later, and I'm getting on my bike to check out what the hell happened.

I get up to Craig road, and see some lady's van in the middle blocking the way, and she was directing traffic. So I look to the left, there's a trash truck pulled to the side, the guy sitting in it, and in the middle of the road, a power pole and wires.

Evidently, the trash truck caught the wires and ripped the power lines and the pole broke in half, flew across the road, and smashed onto the road(the pole was on our side of Craig, and the main powerlines are across the street...)...the connecting power pole is severly listing back and forth in the wind, waiting to break off(it hasn't yet, I'd like to see it snap though). So anyway, I go back home real fast, grab the digi cam, and I'm back up there snaping some pics of this mess...a fire truck was blocking the road on the block that is farther from us, and a cop car was blocking the road at our street, giving us a huge flow of cars down our street and it was a mess.

They later pulled the broken pole out of the road and were letting cars go by while cops were talking to the trashy guy....cars backed up all the way down Craig in both directions. Rush hour mind you, and Craig is busy normally, so when a roaqd blocking event happens it's real bad.

Anyway, here's the 7 pics I took, the quality sucks cause the batteries were dying...

Here's my street from my corner, it got a lot worst than that later on:

Here's a closer pic, that's craig road at the top...

And that's a nice Protege too, and a millenia is the black car going away from me towards craig.

did you fell asleep on your keyboard when you typed the title?

No Mazdas were hurt in the making of these pictures? ;) good to hear everything's going well!

No no didn't fall asleep...that's that one song, "Alive", by that band I forgot...arg...

Nope, no Mazdas hurt. That woulda been a horrid thing if a Mazda was hurt...

Haha, I got in a wreck with the Jeep - it's okay, it needed a new door or two anyway. Quite a coincidence.

PS - is it really that light at 6:20 or so? Here it's dark. Dark, I say!

Damn, Im amazed you could get that close to the power lines, if anything like that happened here you would be kept well away....... We woke up last year to find a lamppost (no more powerlines, underground cables) that had been dragged 3 houses up the street outside our house. Me and my dad (we were being our on little detectives), found out the a 4WD had done the damage......The indian that runs the dairy down the road crashed his mini into our fence once about 10 years ago  it was so funny.

No Doug, this was like 4:30 and the darker pics were around 5...

I was able to get that close for a little bit before people started telling me to leave...then later they let people on the sidewalk and opened the road....

Yeah - I was wondering about the darkness. Damn daylight savings time! It wilts the blinds!!

Or something.

Did you disconnect your ps2 after the power went out?

Just be careful when you are playing with your ps2 and the light go out, immediatly reset the game, turn off the system and unplug it.

naa the pole hasn't fallen yet...I checked it on my bike about 2 hrs ago when I let my dogs out, and it's still leaning pretty badly. And now we are getting the wind so who knows if it will fall...

Nope, didn't disconnect the PS2....it was off when the lights came back on, and I checked it and it's fine.
