Hi lovely GT boys and girls, heh, yea. Anyway I forgot about GT4 for a few months and thought I'd come back to see how it's coming along. Then I saw it was delayed for 6 months, but then i saw some nice things too, like the online features and beautiful screenshots etc... oh yea, then in my haste, I joined the gamespot forums. All I wanted was to share the ideas my brain had thought of with some over 8's. A couple of little things that I think would be really nice touches to the online mode in GT4, so let's try again:

I assume we will be able to qualify? So it would be nice if you could sit in the pits and watch a data screen during qualifying rather than the game pooing you out onto the track randomly. It would add some atmosphere to the pre-race tango (and atmos is something GT sorely lacks)

It'd be nice to have my name printed in the rear windows next to the Union Jack, just like a real race car driver!

Limited edition rewards (cars/paintjob variants/stickers? etc..) as tournament prizes

Online free practice sessions. Pointless, but is it? "Run and Settings" on GT3 is just plain lonely. Again, it's about atmosphere. The variety of shooting past some guy wringing the schit out of an old maesto, only to watch an old Can-Am McLaren thunder past you, still twisting and twitching as it's rear tyres struggle for grip at 80mph... it would add some variety/realism/FUN to test sessions no?

Also, how many evo variants are forecasted? cos I'll scream if they outnumber all the cars in the western hemisphere by a factor of less than 6.

Welcome to GTP, nice ideas, I think your right that GT4 needs to add more amosphere to the game.

I hope at least a couple of those thoughts are obscure enough not to have been hit on already. I realise after 30000 posts, there isn't much point in posting "I want lots of cars", "I want to be able to change oil in the middle of the championship" or "I want to put 24 inch chrome bootz on my Model-T, oh and nitrous too" because they're just too obvious.

I've been on this site for a year!

Good ideas.

Have you ever been to the Stockton Fairgrounds? If so the kart track?

ive been to the fairgrounds a lot, but i havent seen the track. i know theres a track tho.

Yeah I like the idea of a trackday-type practice session. Where there are privately owned cars running the track. Mostly 911s, an Elise or two, a set of hatcbacks, maybe a guy with a Radical SR3. They would be AI of course, each with their own driving skill level. Maybe a training course, like a ittle caravan of cars parading around slowly. Then later on in the day, out rolls the semi-disguised M5-Concept, with black surfacing and all... Every few laps pitting in to adjust this, change that. Oh the possibilities. I could pretty much drive all day in an environment like that...

I like what I here. You could spend all your time in a track day mode. Be better if the cars there (online) were real people. This would limit the number of cars but would be cool.

Hi, Spada. See you're a newcomer here.

If you poke around the GT4 Forum topics, I have all sorts of "Considerations" topics ranging from menu and presentation, Driver mentality, and I'm opening up a new one as of the time of this reply. I haven't seen all of your ideas, but welcome.

I really like the idea of free practice sessions.
As mentioned the online FP session would have people from around the world testing their cars (of all different types) at the same time. Might have to limit the amount of cars to six though.

Offline mode could have a random amount of AI cars of all different makes & models too.

I'm sure that PD will put a special "room" for just that reason. I can hear it now, "Chicken On Line" contests. Heh.
