Rather than taking the time to join and then ask the question, it's always best to look at the rules before joining a forum. I made several mistakes on another forum... Of course, most people never read the rules before doing anything. (And yes, I'm included in that group...)

Thread locking is more difficult to pinpoint. Sometimes it's a matter of a thread already exists on the subject. Sometimes a thread is going nowhere and becomes filled with nothing but spam. Sometimes you start a perfectly legitimate thread but someone comes along and derails it. All can lead to a lock but for very different reasons.

Read this and stick to this and you'll be fine.
