Just wanted to say hi. I joined the forums after seeing alot of yall online racing. Sorry for all the accidents I give ya. I am a nub. Wanted to say thanks for all the amazing tunes yall have posted. I am learning alot about the setups and online politeness. It took me a while but I am learning one race at a time. If ya see me online or if I run into you it is out of love, and lack of skill. Not intentional.

:)Welcome to GTP.I raced you a few times tonight.you will do fine.I'm the nut that keeps running the red EVO.:crazy:See you on the track. We are pretty open here so if you have any problems with set up,just ask.

And I'm sorry if I've ever accidentally hit you! (I don't think I have, but sometimes accidents happen). I've seen you in a number of races, and I don't remember any intentional ramming from you, so that's a big plus :D Welcome to GTP.

Hi TurkeyBurgers, saw you racing at Daytona Tonight, you race ok man, I have found that when you start off racing at a new track, or new Car take it for a few Trial Laps first. That way you can get to focus 100% on how your Car is setup, when you think you got it sweet, then go let em have it lol :D. (No dodgy tactics), see you online again man!;)

Clean Racing is very rewarding. It is tough for me after doing all of the license events I got in the habit of using shortcuts and cutting off and ramming to get top three finishes to clear the event. I think that is something that would be nice to see in the final version of the game. A license ladder that doesn't reward or require you to cheat to win. In fact it should make a point of frowning on it from the very first event. I think online racing would be a lot more enjoyable if clean racing was in the offline version from stage one. It honestly, took reading in the forums and then seeing people do it to realize it was crappy. I would still be blocking, forcing people off the road, cutting people off, using them as brakes and wall riding if I didn't find this forum. The funniest thing just happened, I was in a 750pp Daytona Road race and it was only the first lap and it was down to only 6 people online and I was in third pushing for second when all of a sudden the Vette in front of me stops, I thought he hit the wall and I gained the advantage so I blow by and realize he is stopped. Then I see first place ahead and I am gaining on the Ford GT FAST! HE is stopped too! Holy crap I thought. These guys are stopped to let someone pass they must have rammed. Being the new found good guy racer I decided to pull in behind first and let whoever is needing to catch up, catch up. Little did I know after about 30 seconds of sitting there revving my engine, the server had disconnected and it was just some weird fluke. Goes to show though gtplanet has payed off dividends and I am weened off the bump I was so addicted to. Thanks for making me clean yall. -TurkeyBurgers

Yo man, Raced with yaz last night... talk about good sportsmanship... thanks for letting me pass! but I couldnt keep up.. HAhAhAH I just got a wheel and still getting use to it... its a whole different world compared to a pad... :) especially if youve been using a pad since GT1... LOL Anyway hope to race with yaz again... but keeping up this time :) I was in the white Mines GTR... ;)

Not a fluke occurence, it happens to me all the time (Well not all the time). It's not them who disconnect though, it's you losing your connection to them. My advice is, as soon as you notice it happening, quit. Because to them, your car is slowing down, as though the driver were just abducted from the car by aliens, and if you don't quit, your driverless car can ruin someone's race. Although it's not your fault, they normally aren't aware of what just happened and it just gives you a bad name really. So quit when it happens, and get your car off the track! (Be sure it's happening though.;))

Cheers Nd 4 Holden Speed man, that info is pretty helpful. I have had that happen to me before, not very often but it does leave you wondering whats goin on. The last thing you want to do is wreck someone elses race. Next time your on the track you could get rammed by the same person you accidentally took out, they of couse thinking your just being stupid unless they know otherwise.
PS: Im also from QLD, I'll be looking out for ya, see you on the track man.;)

Not too many Queenslanders on here.👍 I'd be racing right now if my PS3 wasn't doing the update.(Which takes ages for me).:)

I must have been lucky.15 to 20 min on the first try. What bugged me was trying to change over my HDD from 40g to 160g.Darn thing wouldn't want to work. It works fine as a external HDD.Think I will call Sony and see if I need to do something to it to get it to work.:grumpy:

I thought yours was fast. That means it will have 15% done for me by morning.:dopey:

Yeah It is usually pretty fast, but not this time. It isn't bogging down my internet, Sony's end appears to be busy, dunno.

52% now

Just when I thought someone else was feeling my pain, I go and turn on the TV (I turn it off while updating it takes so long), and the key word was "ERROR".:grumpy: Start again, oh joy.

Yeah I feal your pain man, ERROR...ERROR...ERROR isall I got for the first 15 minutes of trying to initiate teh download, but restarting the PS3 and quickly going into sign in helped get me on the way, it finished in maybe 45-50mins or so, maybe more...it was a while. No big difference either so dont get to hyped lol:D Next up we have our GT update...at least when you get to 13 percent it wont ERROR up in yo Face again, just reconnect and resume download...howabout Sony takes a leaf out of PD's Book, would save a lot of traffic ttrying to connect and start downloads!

Well TurkeyBurgers I dont think there was a list on the PS3 regarding the changes of this update at all.:odd:

If anyone had a listing from Sony on the recent update changes that would be interesting to see.:)

I wouldn't be suprised if the small system update (2.42 a 0.01 change) was to aid the GT5P update on the 1st, maybe something to do GTTV and adding a ingame PSN wallet or something. Plus probably some other small things.

Got it done first time today, still 1.5hrs to do though. As for the update's list of changes, there are threads here on GTP about it, or just check the "News" section on GT5:P.

Saw you racing the SL55 in 750pp DR tonight.

First time i've seen a SL55 in DR, lol.

I considered one myself, but you can only change the final gear ratio on them in the gearbox, which annoyed me.

@ TurkeyBurgers

Hi there. I saw you driving in an SL55 in 2 races this afternoon (Hong Kong time). :)

@ nd 4 holden spd

I saw you just now driving in an Alfa Romeo.. :)
Seems like there's a greater chance of meeting up more GTP members since I've registered a new GTP_ tag PSN account this morning.

A one off race you caught me on ;), that 147 was my first car in GT5:P so I was just giving it some tender loving care by thrashing it around a racetrack.:sly: It's also the car that made my tune shop, The Lion's Den, very famous.:) I was just pulling onto the back straight when the timer ran out, and did a 2'00 flat in it. Not bad when an Art Morrison Corvette is only around 5sec faster. I would also have beaten some people using 750 PP cars if they hadn't quit. I wish the 147 had 6 gears though, hopefully the aftermarket gearbox in GT5 will have a 6spd for her.:D

The 147 1.9 JTDm has a turbo diesel with 6 gears, so if that one makes into the game....
It has great acceleration (once the turbo kicks in after what seems a lifetime) :)

I've driven turbo diesel hatches, and I hate them. The aftermarket gearbox we'll be able to buy in the full game will 98% chance likely be a 6spd, so I'm not worrying.;)
