Some of us relish in the memories of highschool. It's really understandable; it's your last chance at total freedom from the grips of true life. This is a thread based towards your automotive memories from highschool.

Who had the hot car? What was it? Were you in an automotive class or club of sorts? Did you maybe have a little point-to-point race with some buddies? ;)

Please share your experiences. :)

Nothing much... The only real memorable event was my friend and I in his then Fiero. He was taking me home, it was a nice day and he wasn't speeding. He took the turn toward my house and we immediately went into a 180 and I saw my life flash before my eyes ( which didn't take long :dopey: ). I heard later on that a friend saw us doing the 180 too. Luckily there was no one around so it was incident free.

No one had a car exept the teachers, none of the kids in high school were over 16. College on the other hand, now I wasn't that into cars at the time but Katie who was in my class had a red Clio, the car was crap but I'll never forget thoes back seats.

The best car at my school (they took a vote) is Spencer's Ford 5.0. He poured lots of money into it and it runs like a champ. The other cool cars there are a '01 Mustang, an Impreza, and a 300ZX. I remember a few weeks ago when some junior and senior guys were bragging about how fast they went through this long straightaway to Salinas. One said he did 135 before he had to turn. What an idiot.

We have a R32 at our school. It is SOOO PRETTTY!. There's also a few Range Rovers  and a TT. The TT is a Turbo S with Quattro. It's very nice..

And a kid just a month ago got a brand new black 330i... holy crap...

So far ive been in a corsa fiesta 2 bmw's a merc audi vw and vauxhal In my college days. No stories to it other than if you have a drop top BMW 3 series girls are cueing up for your number.

Thank you, very much along the lines of a response I want, iceburns.

While I have yet to drive to school, I do already own a car, and it's turning out to be one of the more powerful ones. I own a 1986 Olds Delta 88 Royal Brougham Sedan with a high-output 3.8 V6. Most of my buddies own Cavaliers.

One of my buddies own a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle with a 396. I have a distinct feeling he will not make it through next year... :(

We've got some pretty nice cars at our school...I'm partial to my own of course, but there's an '04 RX8, '05 Mustang V6, a TT, Volvo XC90, S80, XC70, Infiniti FX35, Lexus RX330, Jaguar X-Type, drop-top Firebird and more...and that's in the student parking lot.

There's a couple nice teacher cars too, an XJ8, an '06 3-series, X3, Saab 9-3, and there was a GX470 for a while.

Can't forget the time when this one kid who never drove to school showed up in his dad's immaculate, tastefully modified banana-yellow '66 Sting Ray. The look, the sound, the SMELL of that car...

Hmm...

My buddy has a '76 Ford Ranger, and he went mudding, and drove it to school covered in mud, he was leaving chunks everywhere, it was great!

Also, he drove his dad's truck one day, and the battery died so our earth/space science teacher jumpstarted my buddy's truck with his honda civic.

There's a kid with a 66 impala, another kid has a brand new GTO (his parents must be dumb) and another has a 69 Chevelle.

In a month or so there will also be a kid with a '60 Biscayne... :sly:

There’s a nark here who has a blue G35 coupe, a teacher who has a platinum metallic 350Z, and a teacher who has an early-’90s Corvette (albeit an automatic). I believe there’s a student with a brand-new yellow Corvette.

Otherwise, nothing spectacular – my school has a strange infatuation with lifted trucks (excuse me while I go vomit), so they make up most of the wealthy crowd.

Yep, it's pickups and Range Rovers here.

And a LOT of 4Runners, Highlanders, and their equivalents. My girlfriend's getting a Highlander in a few months  but I want something like a Corolla. I'm 6 inches taller than her, so it should be an interesting match

My buddy's 76 ranger is lifted 6", you can see it across the parking lot!

what do the letters on your avatar stand for, Sage?

What would the flying spaghetti monster do? (My guess.)

The two at my school that stick out the most is a new blue SRT-4 and a TT 3000GT, although my brothers' 1970 El Camino seems to turn a few heads when I drive it. 👍

Hope that doesn’t mean you’re too much above 6 feet – Corollas are, from what I’ve read, awful for taller drivers (steering wheel too far, pedals too close).

There’s a kid here who I swear has a 2-foot lift or something absurd (illegal?) like that – the damn thing could roll right over my Subie if it wanted to. I watched him park it once, and though I can’t stand such a showcase of profligacy, I have to at least commend him for his parking skills.

What Slick said. :)

well my first car (2000 Mits Eclipse Spyder) was nice but i totalled it in a race (on a track) but when i got my 1989 second edition 300ZX it was my car, a 1988 Mustang (black), and Mercedes Evo, and a Chevy Chevelle, it was basically me the Evo and the Mustang, o wait and my friends Twin Turbo Supra, but doesnt have that no more.

but were i went to race was at the private (catholic) high school 2 miles down the street were all the rich ass Porsche and Beamers are, thats were i like to race. adn the fact that are school are like rivals makes it even better to make the rich arse eat your dust. :sly:

Among all the "car guys" at my high school, the only cars that weren't fart-can-equipped Hondas or DSMs were my car, a friend's ZZT230 Celica, a first-gen VW GTI, and a Roush Mustang V6.

In my Tech. College parking lot, the only cars that have really caught my attention are a pristine FD, a stripped-out AE86 with Trueno badging and the license plate "DRFT ONE", a nice E28 (two teachers own similar-looking E32's  ), and another E30.

Well, there's not a whole lot in the student parking lot. A '77 BMW 3 series, a late 80's 3 series sedan, and quite a few small trucks. A couple rangers, a couple shortbox Chevys. The rest are either uninteresting or beaters.

One of my teachers from last year occasionally drove his 1963 Split Window Corvette to school.

I'll hopefully have a notable car by the end of the year.

With insurance rates the way they are in Ontario, only the really rich kids could afford to have their own cars. The best one at my school was driven by the goalie from my old hockey team. He had a new 911 Cabrio... needless to say it was an automatic... otherwise it was all either rich kids driving their parents cars, or morons with modified Civics.

Hiya! :D :O  Meow! (='.'=)

he biggest memory I have with automotive in high school is this 1990 something Toyota Camry owned by a classmate. This car was so beat up that it would have been the perfect car for Pimp My Ride show.

1. This car have some black tapes on the hood that covered 5 holes that appear to be bullet holes.

2. The front and rear bumper are held up by long nails that stabs through the car's body and bumper and then angled inside the trunk/under hood.

3. The back seat and the passenger seats shakes and move a bit since there isn't enough screws to keep it to the car.

4. This car smells really bad when everyone first sat in it. Like something rotten or something have died. The owner had many methods of trying to get rid of the smell. It never really worked until the my friends dog came sniffing at the car and the owner decided to let the dog detect what it smell. Happens to be a dad rat under the driver's seat, mistaken for a black pair of socks the ENTIRE TIME! :scared:

There are so many problems with this car that its actually funny because you will never know what kind of messy surprises you can find in this car if you look around and play with things. Today, this car doesn't even look like it was when it first came into the school parking lot. There is something special about that car that a thrown football have to hit it nearly every period of PE. :O

When I had some classes next to the parking lot, if you hear a clunking sound, you know whos car it is that got worse.

There’s a rather ditzy girl here who drives a Eurovan, and she seems to forget that it’s a top-heavy vehicle while she drives it – she’ll gun it in corners, and it’ll lean at freakishly steep angles.

 Back in college there was this kid who had a Range Rover, had a mini bar in the back which was cool.

Meh, that's better than the moronic drivers who love to mash the throttle from stoplights and such, but will slow to 2 mph to make any sort of turn...

...then those people complain about gas prices...

I ran with a very interesting crowd, car-wise. Keep in mind that I went to High School a short time after the end of the first Gas crisis, and the Gas-Hogs were plentiful and cheap.
My friends cars:
1973 Torino Sedan with a 351-C
1970 Mustang Fastback with 3-spd manual, Flame paint 351-W
1966 Mustang Notch 3-spd manual with a 200cid I6.
1966 Hertz GT-350 Mustang
1970 Camaro with a built 327
1955 Chevy with a 454
1971 Vega with a 454,
1970 Monte Carlo with a poked/stroked 396.
Knew another guy with a much sweeter Vega with a 350.
Another guy had a 1954 Crown Vic 2-door, restored with the flat-head and tube radio.
The guy with the sweet 350 Vega, married a friend of mine that had a truly nice 1970 Camaro with a crappy little 307 in it. But it was one of the most gorgeous Camaros around.
One of the Soldiers had a triple black 1970 Challanger with a very hot 383.
One guy had a 1980 Z-28
Another had an 1980 Trans-am
I had two friends that occasionally had access to Vettes (a 1979, and a 1975 model).
Another guy got a brand-new 1981 280ZX for his 17th birthday.

I had a 1962 Ford Thunderbird, A 1971 Galaxie 500, and a 1969 Austin America.
The Galaxie became "mine" after dad bought mom a 1974 Mercedes 280 Sedan.
The America became "mine" after dad bought himself a 1978 VW bus.

I also had the occasional use of a 1970 Ford Country Squire wagon...with a 429SCJ under the hood.

That covers the "cooler" cars.
There was also a plethora of Stock V-dubs, Pintos, Vegas, 4-door Malibus, and Novas and other domestic grocery getters, or cars that your average "soccer mom" would drive prior to SUV's and Mini-vans.

Few nice cars there. A Vega with a 454 shoved in would be :scared: .

You sure they made a 429 SCJ? Or are you thinkin' of a 428SCJ?
