So, for a laugh, I was taking a cruise around High Speed Ring, in the FANTASTICALLY imbalanced X1. Lap 1 went fine, then there was a slight altercation with a Mitsu Evo IX...

Whoops.

So, for the replay, I did what any intrepid gamer would do: I capitalized on Photo mode.

^^ From the starting line, heading counter-clockwise around the course, this would be part of the way around the first big sweeping left.

Since Photo mode dropped me on the *other* side of the guard rail, off the course, I wanted to see how far I could wander around...

These cars must've been built in the '80s. Look how boxy they are. =p

Because you can't have a race-course if you don't have toilets, eh? Note the vending machine off to the right.

An observation tower, overlooking the course. There's several around the periphery of the course. Have to look out for nutter drivers going up on the guard-rail, after all. =p

The throngs of adoring fans! They seemed a bit out of sorts this day; they seemed a little flat.

I believe this is under the bridge past Turn 1, right before Turn 2. (The telly is being occupied at the moment, so I can't drive the course to verify. =p )

On this side of the guard-rail, you eventually get to the suspension bridge that goes over the water, before the S-curves, leading into the tunnel. You can walk as far as the edge of the bridge; there's a set of stairs leading down to the water's edge, but you can't traverse said stairs. It was also frightfully boring to photograph, so I turned 'round, and started heading back towards the grandstands.

And now, a moment for our sponsors...

The large suspension bridge, just past Turn 2, and some pavillions set up down below.

HighSpeedRing_12.jpg

People crowded 'round the toilets.

HighSpeedRing_11.jpg

And more pavillions.

HighSpeedRing_10.jpg

The hill leading back to the grandstands was surprisingly unsturdy...

Allowing me to get a couple of pictures *underneath* the parking lot, just off of the grandstands on the front straight.

Underneath the bridge off of the first straight, leading into Turn 1.

More of the adoring fans. (The skyboxes look nice!)

Pit-side of the track. Zooming in, the floors above looked mostly unoccupied.

Another observation tower. This is leading into the front straight.

Right before the last turn, leading into the straight.

...and the exit of the tunnel, leading into the last two turns. Sadly, there was an invisible wall, preventing me from exploring further. So ends our photo journey around High Speed Ring. Hope you enjoyed yourself. :)
