SERIES INFORMATION
I cooked up this idea yesterday, and after some testing and some discussion with others, I've decided to present my idea for my next OLR series (after Targa Classico is over, of course).
Bringing back the great days of FIA GT in the end of the 90s, when homologation special GT cars were as close to prototypes as possible. We will be concentrating on cars used in 1997 and 1998, the final years that FIA GT used the GT1/GT2 formula before the radical changed to GT/N-GT in 1999.
This means the entry list for this series will be as follows...
GT1
1998 Nissan R390 GT1 (Mods: +200kgs weight, Medium Tires)
1997 (BMW) McLaren F1 GTR (Mods: Chassis Stiffening, Medium Tires)
1998 Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR (Mods: Chassis Stiffening, Medium Tires)
1998 Panoz Esperante GTR-1 (Mods: Chassis Stiffening, Soft Tires)
(This covers every real GT1 class car except for the Porsche 911 GT1 and Lotus Elise GT1)
GT2
2000 Dodge Viper GTS-R (Mods: +100kgs weight, Medium Tires)
2001 (1995) Jaguar XJ220 LM (Mods: Chassis Stiffening, Soft Tires)
1999 Lister Storm V12 (Mods: NA Tune Stage 3, Chassis Stiffening, Soft Tires)
(This covers every real GT2 class car except the Porsche 911 GT2, Saleen Mustang RRR, and Marcos Mantis LM600)
The only things unrealistic about these cars is that the Jaguar XJ220 raced at LeMans in the GT1 class in 1995, but in terms of the game, it fits in with the GT2 class. Also, the Lister Storm V12 featured in the game races in the reformated FIA GT series, but raced in the class equivilant with the Dodge Viper GTS-R.
As for the races, these will take place at venues such as Laguna Seca (a real FIA GT course), Apricot Hill, Fuji '90s, Suzuka, Circuit de La Sarthe (a non-official real FIA GT course), and Grand Valley Speedway, although this may be changed by time the actual season begins.
Cars will be run in GT-mode in races running around 10 laps, fully open in terms of setup, with the only requirement being a mandatory pit stop (for a "driver change") and set tires determined prior to the race by me.
So, if anyone has an opinions, interests, or questions, feel free to post them.
If the spot race goes well, expect the series to start in May or June.

Track: Apricot Hill (Normal)
Mode: GT Mode
Type: Open practice, submit fastest lap
Rules:
- Run as many cars as you wish as many times as you wish
- TSM and ASM are set to 0
- All other settings are at driver's discretion
- Be aware of any add-ons that specific cars require, as well as your required tires.
- Keep it out of the grass and off the walls. Submit only clean laps.
