My current fastest "old" car is the '69 Corvette Convertible. At 569 HP and 1257 kg....it still is not cut out to run in that race. The Ford GT40 smokes me. I have about 1.3 million in credits. Any ideas? Should I save up for a specific car? Or is there one that works out there that I can win?

If you do the Like the Wind event on B Spec, you win the Toyota 7 race car which can win with a bit of luck, otherwise the Chapparal 2J is in the UCD for ~14 million. Those are the only 2 cars with a decent chance at winning.

I used the Toyota 7. It was no problem except for Cote d'Azure.

The luck involved has to do with the opponents.
Simply, the Chapparals are the fastest cars for that track and the faster the AI driver, the higher it's starting position.

A Chapparal runs away while the slower AI drivers in slower cars slow your pace for the opening part of the race, allowing the fast drivers in the super fast cars a chance to make a big gap. If a Chapparal of any sort is in the top 3, just stop there and reload. Sooner or later you'll get a race line up with GT40s, Jags, Toyotas or Ferraris in the top 3-4.....then your bspec racer will able to fight for the lead in just a few laps.

It's a good thing you don't need to win every event to win the championship!

My advice to you is the check out the "search" function. There are several threads with all the information you need.

A Ferrari 330 P4 tuned with rigidity and stage 3 turbo, lowered suspension, racing slicks etc makes light work of this event, especially Deep Forest. For Cote, just drop the top end to increase acceleration, increase the downforce, and voila, easy race win. Quite why people struggle with it I don't know, and I'm only using a pad...

Of course, you need 20,000,000 to buy the 330 P4 in the first place, then a chunk of cash to tune it and put fresh rubber on it, but for me that's not an issue.

lol this comes up daily. If you want it easy ask for a 2j on the x1 trading forum errr I mean marketplace. There are plenty around as it was a birthday trick car. Otherwise get the toyota 7 from like the wind. Other cars work but you gotta be really good.

I had to hold off on this until I could get the 1970 toyota race car. I did this by winning Like The Wind in A-Spec to get the Minolta Toyota, and then I leveled up B-Spec to win Like The Wind with my driver using the Minolta Toyota. The prize for the B-Spec Like The Wind is that 1970 toyota race car. Fully tuned, that thing can win pretty easily.

i just did the deep forest track today with a 512b, zero abs/aids, will do cote tomorrow

woops forgot the advice, well be second by the first corner, will make it easier

Got gold in both races with the Ferrari 512BB (fully tuned).

You just need to fend off the Toyota 7 - the Cote d'Azur race is easy but I had to retry Deep Forest a few times to win it.
