Round4 - Thunderhill Park HMSA Invitational - Autumn Ring Mini reverse

• Same regs as usual.

• 10 laps

• Deadline - 12midnight GMT Sunday 20th Nov.
(i'll stretch this a little if people don't have enough time to run it by Sunday)

A short week this time then? (I think previously there was almost 2 weeks to do the races?) I should still be able to give both cars a run. I believe I'll give the BMW a try in the other class.

Situations have previously stopped me from running the series weekly as i had intended originally. I presume most people don't do too much testing, so i guess for this round five days will be enough. Without having a set-up to fine tune, like most 'GT Mode' series, i usually just jump in the Alfa and run the race straight off.

TheCracker2 will probably run the Cougar that i'd originally ment to have run. Although the Nissan 1600SSS also looks tempting.

Should I keep the rewards weight? No big deal either way, but of course if the chance is there to loose it best to find out. 👍

I can almost for certain say that I won't have time to run this before Sunday. I'll try, though.

Done

Shelby: Solid performance. No penalties this week. Finished 1st by a nice margin. Getting better in the Shelby. I might have to bump the difficulty.

BMW 2002 Turbo: 1st race in this car. Used difficulty 6. Like the Shelby, ran the course forward as practice. Drew a couple of soccer mom's in wagons as the top competition. The #1 (Nissan Stagea) made a few mistakes...so I just needed a solid run...I was disappointed in the mundane rides the computer picked out...but the drivers were pretty good.

Then there was the money round. The computer didn't pick out any soccer queens in wagons. Instead I got an Audi Quattro TT 3.2! 138pt. race (the Shelby is usually 125+/-) so I knew I'd have my hands full. This was a real nail biter. Got by the TT on lap 3 (I believe). Opened up a decent lead 3s+/-. Then the TT's tires warmed up. Dogged me pretty hard in the closing laps. The closest I noticed was 0.6s. Crossed the line 1.574s ahead. No penalties in the BMW either. The Bimmer was 9.147s slower than the Shelby. That's just less than 1s per lap. Maybe the Shelby should run with a little less HP to even things out?

Overall a solid week of racing. No penalties. No driver errors.

Many thanks to those who could be bothered to enter. We've a slightly bigger field this week with goixoye and myself running second cars. if anyone else fancies doing this feel free - but you must run a car from another class.

Wow! Close racing 2nd, 3rd & 4th separated by just over 1s. The Fox continues to dominate...well done.

It was nice to have a good race with the A.I. this time around, in the Cougar at least. I only got into the lead on lap 5 and never pulled more than a couple of seconds away from the Supra in 2nd. The Alfa, even on difficulty level on 6 was ahead and pulling away within a couple of laps. I thought a tight, hilly track like Autumn Ring Mini might favour the 'Class B' cars with their better traction more, but it would seem that there's still no substitute for cubic inches!

Yeah, something about these muscle cars does'nt seem right, like they just handle and brake far to well. The Alfa and BMW with the better tires and handling should have been much better off. Maybe because of Arcade mode?

....I missed this one couse I was workin sooooooooooooooo damn much,,,, I would have wopped your ass Fox ;)

Can we compare lap times now?

I wasn't particularly pleased with my results, but I only got about 10 laps practise, and haven't been playing much.

Feel free to compare lap times.

I'm so busy at the moment i hardly get chance to practise before the race at all.

I have started testing for a new series i plan on running in the new year if anyone's interested. It will be run in GT Mode this time - i think it appeals to a wider ordiance. It will be called the 'Classic Road Sports Series'. The cars will have quite a high level of modification allowed, but will still be run on 'sports' tyres - good for 4-wheel drifts :sly:
