Well, finally got here :nervous:
The series hasn't been as well attended as i hoped, even though it was fully subscribed. Still, we've had a hardcore of participents and the points table is still pretty close.

• Same regs as usual.

• 13 laps

• Deadline - 12midnight GMT Sunday 4th Dec
 
Tested with the 'Cuda this week to see if I could figure out why Fox is spanking us so bad in this series. I ran 2 races with the 'Cuda. My 2nd race was about 45 seconds quicker. About 1/2 way through the 2nd race I realized the optimal shift points for the 'Cuda were actually 500 to 1,000 rpm BEFORE the redline. I probably could pull maybe 15 more seconds out (maybe about 1 sec per lap). Interesting with Difficulty 4 a 95pt race. Finished 6th 43 seconds behind.

BMW. Not my best race...4th place by 32.630 secs. I tried to stretch the tires too far hoping to complete the race without having to pit. I think I pitted after lap 9 or maybe 10. The soft tires just couldn't go the distance. I was in the lead but went off-track just befoe pitting and let 1st & 2nd get by and then I got a penalty for hitting the pit wall...I thought the "auto-drive" would kick in sooner. Luckily I was close to the "auto-drive" take-over point and only received a partial penalty so-to-speak. I did close on the leaders in the final laps...I expect 14 or 15 laps would've forced a pit stop for them. The BMW was almost 2 minutes slower than the Shelby this week.

Shelby. About 12 sec quicker than my 'Cuda time. So it seems that in my hands the cars are about even. I can only conclude that Fox is an awesome driver. Solid race. 1st Place. About 18 sec ahead of the RUF 3400S. I guess I've progressed beyond a Difficulty 4 for this car. I think a 121pt race. So more points for a race I easily won...compared to the 'Cuda that had a lower point value but the race is imposible to win (at least for me).
 
Wow.. very short on time here (yet again, this time shortage has doomed any sort of good placement for me in the series).

I submitted my time this morning and as I said to The Cracker it is probably my worst performance all season. I am not expecting my time to be competitive this week. The big Camaro hasn't felt so slow before but I think it's because I was driving so bad. I kept missing the apex and when I was getting to the apex it felt like I should have been carrying an extra 10 to 15kph through the corner. On the other hand the AI seemed to go so slow through the last two corners. I reckon I made up half a second or more on those two corners alone. But of course I lost more than that on the rest of the lap.
 
Slicks - i've had a nightmare with my memory cards this weekend, so i'll have to post the times this time tomorrow (tues morn) if you can get me your times before this than ok.
 
I'll try... Already 9:40 pm here, and I've still got stuff to do.

Goixoye ran Redline Fox to a not-so-clear-cut win this time, well done guys. Slicks and Schrodes were close again in the Camaros..... and the Alfa brought up the rear - again!

I'll be posting a new thread with the overall results shortly, although i'm sure you can all guess who won... :)
 
Congrats Fox. Close this week, 7 secs, only about 0.5 per lap.
 
4th! Yeah! (ok, I'm not that enthusiastic about getting 4th.)
Oh well. With a minimum of practise and a fairly clean race, I think round 6 was my best performance of the series. Unfortunately, traction problems (All these muscle cars should have had posi.) put a damper on my times.

Cracker, thanks for waiting for me. I'm a bit loaded up this week.

Congratulations to Redline Fox - a well deserved championship win 👍 It was fairly close for the next two places, but goixoye takes the second place spot just ahead of Schrodes in third, well done guys.

Schrodes - the series i'm planning (for sometime in the new year) is, at the moment, called the 'Classic Road Sports' series. it will be an GT mode series with well modified classic sports cars such as Elans, Vettes, E-types, Cobras and even a 911 Carrera RSR (a Ruf BTR) I'm in the middle of extensive testing to get all the cars on an even footing at the moment on a lot of different types of track. Since its in GT mode, I'll even try to get most if not all of the rounds as actual races instead of the usual OLR 'free-run' races.
 
@Fox - Congrats again, this time for the overall win.

@Cracker - Well done. Thanks for your efforts putting this series together. What I enjoyed most about it was the on track competition with the AI. I had some very entertaining races with those guys which unfortunately doesn't happen often enough in GT4. I also enjoyed what I would call "medium" length races. I hope in your next series you'll be able to find GT Mode races which offer those attributes.

Thank you 👍 - its a shame that many people who signed up for the series never took part in it 👎 - we ended up with more competitors at the end then we did at the start - how many OLR series can boast that!

The problem with GT4 OLR's is you can either run it in 'arcade' mode and have great flexibility with the tracks, length and cars you run - but have very basic cars with no set-up possibility. Or you run in 'GT' mode, have loads of flexibility when it comes to car spec's, but either run only a two lap race - or longer with 'free run' but no A.I. competition and a pain in the arse calculating your final race time. If i can find enough existing championship races to run a 6-8 race series i'll do it that way. The races will probably have to be between 3 and 12 laps, and the A.I. competion may be much quicker but i guess it will be the best compromise.
 
The classic sports sounds interesting, I'll keep my eye out for it.

May I reccommend a 10 race series race from the Professional hall in GT mode? I just did one. The Polyphony Digital Cup, in my Corvette GS (overkill here).
It went Motegi, Seattle, Infineon, Tokyo, Fugi, Driving Park, Le Sarthe, El Capitan, Suzuka, Nurburgring. All the races were 15-25 minutes. If you do the individual races, it could be good.

Thanks, I'll have a look at the one of the series - it would certainly make things easyer.

Schrodes and myself are now looking at running a joint series for classic sports and touring cars (60's & 70's) with two class systems (touring and sports). The cars will be highly spec'd but still run on sports tyres for authentisity.
