I just plugged in the HKS controller and I'm noticing 24% throttle on the game pad equals full throttle in GT5. Is there any way to fix this?? I'm losing a lot of range and it's extremely hard to control the throttle on a high powered car without 100% of the button's range.

Really wish I could have found that thread before I bought this...after 2mins of use it already seems like a waste of money.

If I were you i'd open it up and put some kind of stopper underneath it, so 30% becomes the new 100%. And just be delicate with it. You'll learn eventually

I COULD do that, but I'd rather just try and sell it and buy a steering wheel. Gotta stop skimping and delaying the inevitable. I just can't seem to modulate the throttle with the normal controller.

Go for a wheel if you can. Whole new game.
Also have you tried using the right stick for throttle? I always used L2 R2 without trouble, I heard it can be really helpful though for people that don't like the triggers

I bought one of those things before I got my wheel. Ditched it after about 15 min. Piece of crap if you ask me. I couldn't even give mine away.

I was trying to use the joysticks.

I always use the left stick for steering, now trying to use the right stick. Feels awkward so far.

I used to have a really basic Logitech wheel and it really sucks going back to the controller. But I'll hopefully pick up a Fanatec before GT6 arrives!

Or go in between and get an advanced Logitech wheel like the G27. Personally, after playing GT5 on controller for the first 2 years, this is a huge step forward, and suits all my needs.

Just saying, before you waste money on crap again

At least your not stuck at 30% power at 100% throttle:/

But really a steering wheel is great for GT. So much smoother and more precise. Its a great feeling to actually 'drive' and win the race rather than simply control the car via a pad and win.

There's two mode settings (you switch with a button underneath the controller). Use the "non-GT5" setting, and you'll have a much better throttle using around 80% og the throttle travel.
I love my HKS controller, and I really don't think a wheel would improve my lap times.

Get the L2 R2 extenders for the dual shock, use those for gas and throttle. Steer with left stick, change gears with right stick. This is my configuration when I'm not using my wheel.

Can't get mine to work at all just 4 flashing buttons and I bought on Ebay they'd charge me a restocking fee I'd prolly get back $3
