"HMRCWG" - How Much Is Too Much?

Sorry if this topic has allready been brought up before.
I think that HMRCWG should be moved to the test forum or some other forum where posts do not count. Every time you go into it you see a lot of spamming and postwhoring so that people can up there post count. I have seen " I only Need (insert # here) posts until i reach 200" about a thousand times and its starting to get a little tiresome. I think the post count numbers you have should be earned by actually adding something worthwhile to GTP whether it be some info, tips, or a well formed opinion. There are members who have 1000+ posts who still come in HMRCWG and post whore so that they can get higher numbers. I think this would cut down on the amount of spamming and useless content on GTP and it would encourage posts that have a little bit more valuable content to them. I think it is a fine thread, i just think the posts should not count.
Just my 2 cents... thanx

J said at one time we're gettin rid of postcounts.
Moving it would be a waste.

We're gettin some status system..
I really don't know any more about it.

I seriously doubt my(or anyone elses) post count has anything to do with any future changes Jordan has in mind.:)

I think that HMRCWG is an Icon of GTP. Just like MistaX! :D Move it or let it be but I think that it should stay. Sure the thread is full of useless crap, but that was the point of it from the get go. Let's just see how big it can get! ;)
Who know's, maby after 10, well hell, how about 30 years time it could be sort of a GTP history thread? To be looked through by future members of GTP! That is if Jordan has kids and he can pass on the proverbial "torch" to them! :)

SERIOUS whoring, like M5Power?

Tell me honestly. Why does it bother you if people are boosting there post counts in that thread?

because, i think you should earn your chance to change your avatar, or earn the respect you get from having thousands of posts.. i mean ,Josh for example has 10,000 posts (almost) and when people see that they respect it and understand that he has worked hard to get their and that he probably is a very knowlegdable (sp?) member and that he contributes quite a lot of good stuff to gtp...
do you kinda get what i mean?

But does having a high post count really make your opinions any more valuabe than say someone with only 45? I don't really think that a post count is a good measure of how knowledgable someone is.

Gimme one example of when I whored, you whore (TEST FORUM DOESN'T COUNT). :D

Rumple: You've got to understand - this thread is a real icon. Just let it stay.

How about people just stop spaming in the thread? If the majority's actions prove to be the norm, maybe it will rub off onto those who have nothing better to do than to spam.

Spaming is also discouraged on this site, so please if you see someone repeatedly spaming, use that little feature at the bottom of each post "Report to Moderator" and notify us of the action...

Offer suggestions in the thread of a better way of posting, like making converstion, small talk, chit chat as that's what the majority of the thread consist of.

When is enough, enough? When the thread crashes the server, then it will be enough. :D
