Holy Crap! Game Prices Rock Now!

All sony games are 39.99 now (for a while now actually) and I think that PS2 games are all going down to 39.99 in the near future. Gamespot had an article on it last month if you want to do some searching.

I've seen quite a few cheap 'new' games of late - do you think that maybe this is indicative of the PS2 moving into the second half of its life - much like the PSX, where you saw cheaper games around 3-4 years or so into the life of the console?

Uhh...well at Big W most new games come in at around $88.93 AU.

Depends on the game here, anticipated games are 50 bucks. Games that are somewhat hyped but no one really remembers them are in the 30's. and games no one's heard of are 10-20

Sony Published games are usually cheaper then games published by other companies thats why every gran turismo except GTC has cost £40 and other Games such as Onimusha costs £45 because its a different publisher.

Always cheaper actually, because they wave the licensing fee that they charge to other companies to produce games for the console.

I could Buy NHL 2003 for $11.99 US......

Just get NHL2K3. Sega makes the best sports games hands down. The only exception is for NCAA Football 2004, the best college football game ever. And EA Sports BIG is good. But thats a whole different division.
