Long story about weddings and relatives, but this ended up in my hnds. Had the wife snap a shot because it was unbelievable.

The guy that pulled it out of the water, nearly 15 years ago, said it weighed near 30lbs.

Judging by the size of it, I'd say he's right.

DAAAAMMNN.. Those claws are the reason i dont eat lobster, it might come alive and bite my face off. :irked:

Keep in mind, for this particular photo anyway, that there is a perspective issue here.

A) He could be a smaller than average man. Say 5' 2". That would make a bit of difference.
B) He's holding it out in front of himself and the camera isn't too far away. The lobster would appear much larger than it is.

That doesn't mean it's not a big lobster. It's f`ing huge. But it may not be quite as big as you might think it is.
 
ANd maybe he has absolutely freakish sized hands too.

I've boiled a 1.75 lb lobster before, and comparing that to a 1lb lobster, makes this seem all the more plausible.

O-o gaawd that is amazing. Those could very well be the Crab creatures spaceman spiff fights all the time
 
I hate lobster's there normal size is scary enough, but that's huge. Gawd, how can you even hold that in your hand man. :scared:
 
It looks a little like one of those Aliens from the Alien Trilogy, IMO. That's huge.

Edit: :20 seconds later: it works again, It's huge, but for such a big claw, The actiual grippy teeth jaw part isnt that big (but thats compared to the size of the already huge claw, overall the thigns prettty big.
Solid lifters, can I have the butter when your done with it?

My little brother took a glance at this one and thought it was a dinosaur's head. :D

Nice alta, real nice.

I got to eat some nicely sized lobsters once.
Paid out the behind, but still got an awesome deal since it was family who hooked us up.

Think it was about 13lbs. from 4 lobsters. :eek:

Thinking about those, then thinking about this thing... :eek:

Man it would be awesome to eat that thing... Especially the tail... I always love tail. :naughty:

Lobsters never stop growing...untill they are dead of course, most lobsters get eaten or die of other causes before they can grow very big , if you let a lobster that has lived a long an natural life they can get pretty big. but that one is still very big!!

Lobsters gain an average of 1 lbs. every 7 years. You do the math on that one Alex. ;)

Yes, unfortunately, I did live in Maine. :(
