I am new to GT5 and have a networked setup in my garage with two PS3's, two monitors, two G25's & two copies of GT5 so that I can race against newbie friends. I want to be able to race a friend using some high end (fast) cars but don't have the time to "earn" the fast cars (I would be lucky to get 30 mins per week to play). Is there a way of doing this with high end cars? I really don't know how to navigate my way around GT5 so any help would be greatly appreciated.

All that kit for 30 min. per week? Wow!

Try split screen in arcade mode, you can get reasonable cars there initially, I think. Otherwise buy a cheapie, mod it & do a couple of seasonals quickly. (You need to be online.) Then you can buy something decent.

The Recommended car list is accessible to anyone doing arcade or online play and contains a few fast cars.

However, I assume you know that there is no LAN functionality in GT5 and that you need to both be online to race? This means that if you're racing your own garage cars, your "newbie friend" would need to have earned the fast cars too... He'll need to have his account on your second PS3 so he can bring his gamesave with him, log in and race online with you...

That's what I'm talking about. I put in at least 20+ hours a week and I don't even have all that lol.

I never realized that! :)

It took us just about 2 months to organise all the same cars (of a list of about 50) on 12 new accounts (so that no external players could connect) to do the UKGTP14 "LAN" here. Unbelieveable hassle, but everyone did their bit and it was all gravy on the day.

Friends can send you a car that's under 1 million credits. Seasonal Events are a fast way to get money.

B spec is an awesome way to get money too. There's a Yahoo widget for your PC call b spec grinder. There are a couple YouTube videos explaining what it is and how you get it.

IMO, racing online has better physics. As there is tire wear, real grip, damage and you can adjust the slipstream strength. If you go to your lounge it will be private so you and your friend can learn.

Welcome to GT5!

And you can borrow cars from friends that can be over 1 million dollars. I have a total on 4 accounts of 24 cars up for loan for my group of friends.

Borrowed cars can't be used online though.
