A little slow off the mark with this one, you might say, given how long the game has been around for. Regardless, I have kept playing GT4 and kept taking photos, but this is the first time I've decided to display them.

Hopefully in due course I will continue to update this thread. For the time being, a few to whet your appetite. Nothing special, but I try to do something a little different:

Critique and requests welcomed 👍

Awesome photos, the first picture of the Insight is my favourite. It's also nice to see something a bit different in terms of cars, all to often I see the typical Japanese car drifting or one of the race cars.

Thanks guys 👍 I'll continue trying to do something different - I'm a fan of the smaller, more unusual cars in GT4 (well, in general) so that's what I'll mostly be capturing.

Well its cool. 👍 Glad you join one of the many GT4 photomode members here. I do have economical cars in my gallery as well, so your not the only one who likes cheap cars. :p (although that was the thing of the past...... :guilty:)

Awesome picture of the Cooper, I love the wheel selection!

Call it an unsubtle hint, Joey :sly: I did actually notice how the car looks the same colour as yours here, though the car itself is silver. Proof that some black Minilites would look awesome on your car though!

 Point taken.

A lot of detail is lost in the darkness.. at least on this monitor. My favorite shot would be the Midget in the Fish market, it fits in perfect :D And props for making the Insight look.. kinda cool. I didn't know it was possible :D

Do you use super fine quality to save your pics? That might be what TVRfan is talking about. I think it's a great angle, but there's something wrong. I can't put my finger on it. Maybe just the green wall behind it. Good none the less.

Thanks for the comments guys :) David48, I do use the highest quality to save the pics, but they might be losing a little quality when I upload them to photobucket as I upload them at a standard size so they load quickly. The green wall behind is the Stars and Stripes, only without the stars :p It exists in the real Times Square, as far as I'm aware.

Another update:

I think those shots are much much much better. I love the sky poking through in the corner. And that's a great angle on the second one.

I said, " I like the third picture in the fish market." "Makes me want to go get some sushi !" Well it looks like we've arrived at the sushi bar. Better take it easy on the sake though. Do you have a photo editing program? If so, I might suggest enhancing the color and contrast a little. I like the first pic "~ Made for the streets ~", but it looks a little flat to me. I think I would work on the sky and the paper lamps a bit. (The sky, the street lamps and the light in the window on the second floor, in the first pic, are almost the same color. ) I think I might like to try that location too, if thats ok. If you want, check out my gallery, and you can see what I mean by color and contrast enhancement. Also, if you search this forum, you can find lots of tutorials that help me out a lot. (Some of these guys are really good!) Keep up the good work. 👍

Cheers for the suggestions, SS Racing. I do have a photo editing program, but the levels I pick for the photos are the points at which I stop and think "that's enough". I could increase the colour saturation or the contrast, but I find the image begins to look a little too fake when the grasses are too green and the skies are too blue.

Generally my only editing involves a little brightening (as photos taken on GT4's photomode always come out ridiculously dark even if you increase the lighting in-game), very subtle increasing in contrast and colour, and I also tend to make the image "warmer" which brings out yellows and reds more as opposed to colder greens and blues.

As for picking that location to see what you can do, go for it. I've been trying locations that I haven't really used on photomode before, I generally tend to stick to a few tried-and-tested ones.

I'll post another update in the next few days - I've been working on a few things.

Said update, as promised. Includes the first action shot I've posted:

Comments and suggestions welcome. At some point I will put links in the first post to each of these small galleries to make searching easier 👍

Both came out really well, I think I like the first one more though because of the better clarity and the reflections off the melted snow.

I agree, I tend to prefer the static pictures. I don't do as much editing as some people on the forums do so my motion shots aren't as detailed or polished, so it's much easier to get a nice composition in travel mode.

Thank you :) They're my first couple of attempts at multiple car photos. The one with four cars was interesting, given that despite my best efforts, the four shots I took in that location weren't all completely lined up and I also had to pretty much guess whether there was enough space to fit all of them in!

Incidentally, anyone else who takes photos notice how much better the detail levels are when you shoot with a very wide angle lens? It really suffers shooting against a background if you've zoomed in quite far. That's why most of my shots are taken wide-angle (that and I like shooting wide angle IRL).
