I've been thinking of this for a while. Has anyone mage an arcade style cabinet for the PS2, or a driving cockpit, or anything like that?

I was thinking of making one, with the new GT4 wheel, and some MDF, and a car seat. And, of course, a TV and PS2.

Has anyone else done this yet?

yep many of "us" have done it :)

make somethign like this :)

mine is not that expansive looking due to limited budget ;)

but it works fine and it was definatly worth $50 or so i spent :P

friend of mine got me a used 92 civic seat :) (free)

bought some wood (2x4) and some bolts. for the frame.

Painted it white.

its not a looker , but it sure is sturdy and feels comfortable :)

I wou;dn't mind making one, but I have nowhere to put it at this stage.

Ditto.

Anyone else found the GT Force wheel's lap attachment to be virtually useless? :(

Even my crappy old wheel had a better lap 'holder'. Turn GT force wheel sharply with force & you have to keep wheel down.

Some point I'll probably make my own :)

I was at some motor show last year and for Mitsubishi's stand they had a Lancer Evo Rally Car that was hooked up to play GT3, like the steering wheel and pedals of the car actually worked with the game. I thought it was quite clever myself.

do a search as there are many threads about this. and some good guides to build them.

Sure it may not look arcadey with a fancy paint job and a racing seat but hey it works! sure is fugly tho. Once GT4 comes out i'm gonna start modifying it and find a place to mount the new wheel and then a roll cage.

i hate the fact they need three screens to give you that type of view, if it would be a single screen then !!

i wonder how much that would set you back, bet its pretty god damn expensive!
