Okay dokey, i bought gt5 *love it*, played gt4 for the past 3 years or so, always wanted to build a cockpit, now i have the means to do it. So is there any methods out there?
Here are some constraints.
-I have the logitec gt somthing wheel (the one with the sequential shifter)
-I'd like to make it out of wood, PVC, etc. just not somthing i have to weld, or if so only a little
-i'd like to spend less then $50ish, but going over is fine.
-id like it to be slanted, like many of the ones i've seen on here.
-Also, i'd like there to be an 'inclosed' feel per se, like one i saw that was made from metal- that looked great.
any hoo
thanks

This is a guide that I will be following when my wheel arrives:

There are a lot of other GTP users that probably followed this guide as well.

Although, it might put you a little bit over. There are about 18 pages to sift through, but there are a lot of other users on that forum that have been posting their progress/variations as well. I'm not sure if this would offer you an enclosed feeling, but it's definitely worth a look.

Quoting my rig from another thread:

The only thing that needs improvement is my wheelstand. It does move while I race but not as much as it used to when it was 2" higher in height. Love the look of wood grains in black.

I have made improvements such as buying a rubber mat from the hardware store and screwing it into the bottom of the base(it was similar to this type but of course the mat only cost $10). The stand now grips and grips into the rug. I have never seen it move on me yet and I'm pretty happy with it. I'd say if you were to grab the parts it would cost around $30, $40 tops. Not to mention you can move it to a corner since it takes up roughly an 2ft x 2ft square of space. The shelf is at 40 degrees so the wheel points slightly more towards the driver.

Im fortunate i guess, my parents (im in highschool) dont use the basement so i have my wheel on an old school desk in the middle of the room, so space saving is not an issue at all, but i think yours, nick would work as the part to hold the wheel on my frankinstein one.
