I have comcast cable now, and my homepage was google. Now the browser keeps reseting itself to the comcast homepage and not google. Heres what i tried, Went to google.com, made it my homepage. then i click on the homepage icon, then it would go back to the comcast.net homepage. Any Suggestions?

Comcast may have put a program on your PC, like a startpage virus. ind out wat you can about these programs (preferrably more than I know) and then contact Comcast.

Go to Network and Internet Connections in the Control Panel if you are using XP with category view on. If not, and still on XP, go to Internet Options from the Control Panel.

Click on the "General" tab.

Then type in http://www.google.com in the "Home Page" Section.

Then click "ok" and you should be done!

I think he's doing that, he said the browster keeps resetting the homepage so I think he's changed it back before. I had a virus on an old PC a long time ago where the homepage would keep resetting to some other site, I used a program to get rid of it. My anti virus picked up a program but couldn't delete it. Run your anti-virus, if there's anything it can't delete type in the name of the program it can't delete on google and see what that comes up with.

Imo Firefox is a hell of a lot better than IE, especially being able to have sites on different tabs. I've never had any viruses affect firefox, when I had that other virus I mentioned before that's when I started using Firefox more often, because Firefox was unaffected. Since then, even after I got rid of the virus I rarely use IE anymore, some insurance sites require it for checking quotes ect though.

Download Lavasoft Adaware or Microsoft Defender (formerly Microsoft Antispyware, formerly Giant Antispyware). Use them to remove any spyware from your computer and reset IE settings.

And then download Firefox, as IE is bobbins.
