It may not have the R badge, but it ain't far away performance-wise. It would blend well with other modern sedans.

Yeah, I thought so too :) I like this generation of the Accord, to bad it's the last generation too, here in Sweden if not in the rest of the world.

Strange the brochures that I take the information says so, but Wikipedia says another thing. I don't know then.
Some online catalogs claim European versions came with 6-speed manual 'box, so I guess the option was available on some markets.

Yes, I have also found some catalogs and other sites that claim the same thing. So it can't be wrong.
