[As always, if anyone would like to volunteer to take a picture, it will go here :)]
Thanks to Pitracer100 for the picture!

Race Specifics

  • Arcade Mode Time Trial - hotlap
  • Power: 0% (484 HP)
  • Weight: -10% (1035 kg)
  • Tire Type: Racing Medium
  • Driving aids, transmission mode, and top speed setting are open.
  • Standard OLR cleanliness rules apply: Since this is a city course, only contact with walls will invalidate your run. Rumble strips and areas behind them are all part of the track.
  • If you do not have the Mobil 1 NSX, you may use any other '00 or '01 JGTC NSX (although the Mobil 1 is the fastest of the five, so get it if you don't have any of them). The Takata Dome NSX may not be used because it behaves differently between the NTSC and PAL versions of the game.
  • Please PM me your final time by Tuesday September 29 by 11:59 pm GMT (world clock).

Series Information and General Rules

  • All six races will be run in Arcade Mode and each will last one week, with a submission deadline of Tuesday at 11:59 PM GMT.
  • The cars used will be a variety of Hondas, mostly road cars on standard (N) tires, but with race cars appearing as well. Make sure you have all Hondas, used and new, unlocked in Arcade Mode, because few of the cars I will use are available from the beginning.
  • Standard OLR cleanliness rules apply: Two wheels must be in contact with the track at all times; rumble strips are part of the track; no contact with walls allowed at any time.
  • Discussion of times in the race thread during the week will be limited to split times (T1, T2). Lap times are not to be discussed and must be submitted to me by PM before the week's deadline.
  • Please save your best lap replay just in case I request proof, which is unlikely but possible. Generally, no proof will be necessary for the winner or for anyone else; however, I reserve the right to request a photo of a time if I am suspicious of it.
  • Each race will award points towards the overall championship standings to all who submit a clean lap/race time, with the winner receiving 10 points, second place 8, third place 6, and fourth on down each separated by 1 point (5, 4, 3, etc.). No points will be awarded to a non-submitting driver. You do not have to announce your participation in the championship beforehand: anyone may participate in a race and be counted into the championship points, even if you do not plan on running all the races; similarly, there is no obligation to participate in every race. The driver with the most points at the end of the six races will win the championship.

I hope you all aren't getting too sick of the city courses :scared:, but I think this track fits this car well. There are a lot of blind corners here, and ones that have no clear apex, so you must practice to become familiar with the braking and turn-in points. Even then, taking the correct line in each of these corners is a challenge. As I noted above, you can use the Arta, Raybrig, Castrol, or Loctite NSXes, using 0% power and -10% weight for them, as well, if you don't have the Mobil 1 version. I really wish I could have used the Takata Dome NSX, since it's in the initial set of Arcade Mode cars and does not need to be won or bought, but it is much twitchier and oversteers more in the PAL version, for some reason, which would significantly handicap those players in a way that I can't quantify. :indiff: Finally, beware of the sharp curbs that are next to guardrails, like on the exit of the left-hand turn immediately following T1: hitting them does not feel like a wall hit, and looking in Photomode will show space between your car and the wall, but you will most definitely have hit the guardrail, and the analyzer will show a large speed drop. Anyway, have fun! :)

I hope you all aren't getting too sick of the city courses.

Not in the least. They are a great change of pace from the real tracks. I'm very fond of George V Paris.

Plenty of places for improvement in T2.

The Mobil 1 NSX is such a great car!

The balance is just great. I may not want to get out of the car. Do you think Honda will let me drive it home? I'm willing to promise to only drive it on Sundays.

My eighth lap had the following split times: T1 24.167 and T2 47.259

I'm finding it easy to have clean laps. So I guess I'm not pushing hard enough. My pit crew says they are willing to work all night replacing fenders, so I'm being sent back on the track to see if I can knock down some of the armco barriers!

T1: 24.083
T2: 46.070
Like Austin Said there are no clear apexes. That detail is the only challenge I cannot seem accomplish. I managed to shave time off the 1st sector.

My first session splits:

T1 23.048
T2 44.759

MadMax, your car would be only a little over a foot (0.35 meters) behind mine at T2! :scared: That's a great lap, especially for a first session. 👍 In particular, your first sector is terrific; the one on this lap was the fastest I had ever done it. In fact, your lap time is probably better than mine. The rest of my lap looked sort of sloppy, but I really don't know how much I can improve it by making it neater, because that would mean coming quite close to the walls at apexes, and I can't do that consistently.

Edit: I did improve my time, to a 23.035 - 44.431. The lap is still sloppy, with improvements easy to see in the first turn, the hairpin (where I probably lost 0.15), the odd 55-mph right-hander after the fast left, and the long final turn. As usual, stringing great corners together for a whole lap is the biggest challenge. I've seen a T1 more than 0.1 faster and I know I can improve the corners I mentioned, so there's a lot of time to take. By the way, I'm using 280 gearing, as I feel that the improvements in acceleration are worth more than the time lost hitting the rev limiter before the first corner.

Another track I don't know and someone turned off the lights! By the end of this thing, I should be ready for GT5. :D

Here's the first clean lap I've come up with, but looks like I've still got some work to do. 👍
23.933 47.433

New times, track is getting more familiar. :)

MadMax86 could actually beat Austin343! I've got to keep up with this race anyways, if this were a race it would ride out to the end. I for one would be leading the 2nd pack of 5 racers and the leaders would be dashing toward the finish like in a 100 meter race with Usain Bolt.:sly:

My sector`s for today are as follows
t1 23.745
t2 45.463
I have to build up after t2 i could maybe shave another 2 seconds of the lap.

G'Day all, Greetings from Oz.

A very wet and wild Sunday here so a perfect excuse to skive off doing any work and do some driving instead 💡

Okay, after settling into the Car and doing quite a few exploratory laps ( a quantum leap in speed after the mighty civic :) ) I have managed to eke out-

T1 - 23 . 296
T2 - 45 . 073

All aids off and top speed set @ 290km/hr ( Although units set at mph quick tune still reading in km/hr, weird ).

That will have to do for now as I have been asked by "She who must be obeyed" to light a fire and pour some wine.
Besides the six point harness is really giving my groin a hard time.

Later.

I've improved my overall time with this kind of math:
T1 lost 0.3
T2 gained 0.2
final sector aka T3 gained 0.3

Aww man!! Can't improve my time I guess that is the end of this highway heaven the road ends here. I am turning my NSX in to Honda. They were impressed with my time and offered me a invite to the final round of the Honda Cup. After that race they said they will give me a S2000 Race Car designed by Polyphony Digital to race in the SuperGT.:)

After another 20 laps, I have improved my split times to 23.953 and 46.078, which I think will end up being my best splits.

My T2 time would have been slightly better but there always seems to be another Honda just in front of me at the split:yuck:, so I sometimes have to brake so I don't nudge the back bumper of another NSX.

Submitted with previously improvements.

splits:
T1 23.3xx
T2 44.865

Darn.

Real life is starting to interfere with my racing. No time to improve. Time submitted.

Congratulations to MadMax86 and paddycars1 for great podium times, and as always, to everyone for keeping this fast car off of all the walls. 👍

My lap:

It's sloppy in the places I already mentioned, but I didn't really have a good chance of beating it.

Very nice lap Austin343 👍

Again a great performance in stock'ish car.
I wonder how well you'd do in a tuner challenge.. :trouble:

MadMax

Nice laps Austin343 and MadMax86!

I don't know how you can drive at 10/10ths on such a badly illuminated track.

I have to drive at 8/10ths to stay off the walls.
