ok, prepare to be shocked.
the track is severly foggy for round 2 of the 1998 JGTC race at Fuji Speedway. Everyone is bunched up behind the pace car and they are going down the pit straight to start the second pace lap, since the race was to dangerous to start normally. Suddenly, the no. 72 and no. 910 porsche 911 gt2s collide heavily and one of them is sent spearing into the outside wall. the yellow flag is brought out to warn the drivers of the danger. Then, the no. 27 ferrari f355 challenge of Tetsuya Ota loses contol and harpoons the stricken porsche, sending up a massive firey explosion. the burning wreck of the ferrari travels across the track and nearly takes out another porsche. the marshalls attend to the porsche, but leave the burning ferrari just sitting on the track. Ota was trapped for around 50 seconds, exposed to 800-degrees temperatures. he sud the organiserz for 2.7million dollars but only got 800,000. you can see pictures of what he looked like before and after the crash and his burnt helmet. notice that the visor is COMPLETELY melted away. when i first saw this i was like
