Hey all,

Today I got the opportunity to take a ride with Aussie Motorsport Legend Jim Richards in his GT3 Cup (This vehicle recently won the Porsche Cup series here in Australia)

Lakeside Park is an iconic Australian track which is currently celebrating its 50th year. This weekend just gone has seen the celebrations of this with the biggest congregation of historic racing the track has seen in a very long time

Here are some pics from the weekend

Anyways... I digress, back to the topic at hand.

Below are pics and a video... had an absolute blast, being a relatively short track top speed is about 230kph, however the braking and grip levels from the vehicle were phenominal!

Hope you enjoyed, excuse the crappy iPhone video taking :)

Awww yeah that've been hella fun.👍

Anyway how'd you score the ride? I'm jealous as hell! You didn't mention it on Sunday, lucky you didn't coz I probably would have hog tied you, put you in the back of Paulie's ute and stolen your identity for the day so I could do it instead.

All through work mate, we sponsor Jim quite heavily (as easily seen)... There was an internal promotion at work and 3 of us staff got to win a lap along with a few lucky customers of ours :)

I didnt really want to bignote to someone about it on the first time I met them... didnt want to come across as some 'look-at-me' type wanker :)

You failed.

No I'm just kidding. I can't help but sit here thinking a ride in the Falcon Sprint would've been cooler though. I don't suppose (long shot) you're privvy to insider info on his Javelin, like what motor and general colour scheme he'll be running?
Who's giving me a ride to the all Japan day?:p

I don't think they'd let you just go out there on a lunch break.

You rude prick Paulie :-P hahaha

If there is multiple cruise sessions, I'll let you come out with me for the other one when you arent in Nick's :)

He did chat a little about the Javelin... but didnt go into any specifics... more just the rationaly behind choosing that vehicle. I cant wait to see it either, definitely a fan of the AMC cars

Really? What did he say? He was pretty busy or something when I talked to him, just said it wouldn't be ready for Eastern Creek then continued what he was doing. I'm guessing he wanted something with big horsepower potential that's not another common pony car/Aussie car that everyone else is in. Particularly since they imposed some caps on his Falcon Sprint that hindered the performance.
From what I understand though, Seton's XB should be ready for the Muscle Car Masters at Eastern Creek, boy that'd be a great event to attend as well.
Edit: I just found out Bullas is retiring from TCM after all the engine dramas he's had this season.:(

Do we even know if they're allowing passengers in the all Japan day? It's a fair way to drive for me, so I only go if it's really worth it.

Basically just wanted something unique that hadnt been done before mainly... definitely made a good choice for that... and how they hope it performs well or it could end up being a little embarassing.

Cant see why they wouldnt allow passengers for the cruise session, they did on Sunday just gone
