Ok...I'm a big fan of spices. You haven't seen me use them to an extent in the chili recipes as I'm usually cooking that for the office. When I cook a batch for home I use the heat.

In my ever continuing quest to find a hotte sauce than before, I found this little place up the road from where I used to work. http://www.drhot.net/kilhotsauc.html I'll warn you that it has a few risque labels on the sauces. The one that I usually buy isn't listed as it is too hot for most people. Think Tabasco sauce. Then think hot, then take it three steps beyond that. That's what I usually buy.

To give you an idea, One of my favorite drinks is called a "prarie fire". It's Tabasco sauce floating on Tequila. Yes, I like hot food.

Well...Today is something new. My boss, while on vacation, spotted a hot sauce called Backdraft. I gave it a test today at lunch. First stop: Grinder shop for a Hot sausage and pepper grinder and a pint of milk. A few small dabs of backdraft, and I was amazed at the flavor. Rich and tasty, with very little vinegar after burn. Most off the shelf hot sauces contain copius amounts of vinegar.

That's when the heat kicked in. The warmth spread across my tongue and settled in. The flavor was still there, but hte heat was something else. It's quite hard to describe, but it's a a heat you'll not forget at any point soon.

It looks like I'll be placing an order in the near future, as I've been debating making a chili concotion called "You're not man enough"

Is there anyone else out there in GTP world who enjoys hot and spicy food?

Me. The hottest stuff I've had is one called Spontaneous Combustion (habanero), and another called Charelston (Scotch bonnet) something or another. I can't rememeber now. I'm not happy unless my nose is running after I eat. I think I've built up quite a tolerance over time. It's funny because i know people who can't even eat nachos with jalapenos. My father in law can't even handle Italian sausage . I put it on eggs, steak, soup, whatever. I still use plain ol' Tabasco, too. Tabasco in creamy clam chowder is so good. But Tabasco really isn't hot.

Yeah,.. I love hot food. The hottest stuff I've had was a Kentucky rescipe called "Habanero Hellfire". The kind thats just pure hot, no flavor :irked:

But I love Franks Red Hot and Tabasco,... both have the perfect amount of hot vs. taste IMO. I'll put it on everything from mashed potates, to biscuts and gravey, and even the occassional Ritz cracker.

On the other hand, I dont know why, but I detest "spicey hot",.. like, Chili Powder and spices along those lines. Makes me sneeze.

I like mild food. Though I did try this hot sauce mad from the stuff they make pepper spray out of, kayan(sp) peppers, and i started chocking when i tired it. It was only a little finger dip to.

did someone say hotsauce?

I use Tabasco with Habañero peppers. The bottle lasts me about 3 years, though. I used to use Melinda's Triple-Hot with Habeñero peppers, but it's become harder to find in these parts.

I can't believe how many people think I'm nuts for using Taco Bell's hot sauce; usually 2 packets per item. (Wimps, tell ya.)

Mopar Muscle rules, those designs kick more ass than vat_man, and he kicks a lot of ass from what I can surmise.

KosmikFool:

I have to give proper credit when due: My recipe is adapted from one that Boombexus posted here som time ago. I've not the ingredients he has access to, so it had to be modified.

Make no doubt, the chili does come out pretty good.

I love hot food. I get funny looks when I put 2 packets of taco bell hot sauce on a taco. I give them a funny look back. That stuff isn't hot at all.

I like tabasco, but that's really the hottest stuff I've had an opportunity to try so far. Nothing to make me look like

If anyone has some good recipes, SHARE!!!

I love hot food too. A Madras curry is usually the minimum strength I'll order.

I see Dr Hot sells Endorphin Rush, which my flatmate and I used to have with everything at university. I could tell a story about Endorphin Rush, but this site is PG-13, so I won't. Great stuff.

w00tness: That stuff at the chinese place is likely called "Saracchi" I've got a bottle at home. Goes great on the eggs in teh morning, or the burgers in the evening.

Nope...I hate hot stuff, I can't even have some Hot'N'Spicy chicken from KFC without having a whole glass of water or Sprite...:|

I love hot spicy food. I used to like this stuff from Indonesia called Sambalulic which was made from dried peppers, which makes peppers hotter so I am told, but I can't get it anymore.

Now I use this stuff. Thank God it's super cheap.

Tobasco cut with butter and honey is the best!

Franks Red Hot: 👍

Don't care to much for the super spicy stuff. I can't taste food when my mouth is on fire.

Cascabells are the best. Mild spice but a lot of wonderful flavors. Yummy :)

Making your own hot sauce if relatively easy.

Take peppers of your choice and sweat in a pan with oil.
(leave the seeds in the peppers for added spice as the seeds contain a lot of the chili's heat.)

Sweat onions with the peppers.
A touch of vineagar.

Puree and reduce for added heat.
Add a shot of Tequila for an added flare.

Ok...That's on'e more recipe added to AO's cook book.

So Boom...At some point are you going to publish you're own cookbook, or do I keep compiling your recipes as you post them? ;)
