Ok...I'm a big fan of spices. You haven't seen me use them to an extent in the chili recipes as I'm usually cooking that for the office. When I cook a batch for home I use the heat.
In my ever continuing quest to find a hotte sauce than before, I found this little place up the road from where I used to work. http://www.drhot.net/kilhotsauc.html I'll warn you that it has a few risque labels on the sauces. The one that I usually buy isn't listed as it is too hot for most people. Think Tabasco sauce. Then think hot, then take it three steps beyond that. That's what I usually buy.
To give you an idea, One of my favorite drinks is called a "prarie fire". It's Tabasco sauce floating on Tequila. Yes, I like hot food.
Well...Today is something new. My boss, while on vacation, spotted a hot sauce called Backdraft. I gave it a test today at lunch. First stop: Grinder shop for a Hot sausage and pepper grinder and a pint of milk. A few small dabs of backdraft, and I was amazed at the flavor. Rich and tasty, with very little vinegar after burn. Most off the shelf hot sauces contain copius amounts of vinegar.
That's when the heat kicked in. The warmth spread across my tongue and settled in. The flavor was still there, but hte heat was something else. It's quite hard to describe, but it's a a heat you'll not forget at any point soon.
It looks like I'll be placing an order in the near future, as I've been debating making a chili concotion called "You're not man enough"
Is there anyone else out there in GTP world who enjoys hot and spicy food?
