Now that Sony has seen the potential for extra GT games I think they should do a GT Classic. Instead of lumbering GT4 with loads of older cars.
GT Classic could include really old cars like the LeMans winning (blower) Bentleys & the (Kommpressor) Merc stuff from the same period, How interesting racing would be on those really skinny tyres.
Sort of mid years stuff like Gull wing Merc's, The Merc that Sterling Moss won the 1000 miliga(sp?) in, D type Jags, Origonal GT40's Lambo Muras (sp?), they could also include the 60's/70's American Muscle cars. All the way up to Group D Rally cars (Audi Quatros(sp?) & Rennult 5 turbos (the mid-engine rally car). They could even throw in the early Manufactures Pikes Peak cars (Peugeot did a special 406 and was one of the first big car co.'s to create a special car for it)

Humm this post makes me look like a Merc fanboy, I am not It's just I seam to have remembered lots of classic racing Merc's.

the head guy of polophony digital, wants to include more old cars with proper handling and sounds. though i would a GT Classic only if it has mode to buy and modify, i am getting GTC but i prefer a mode really to buy and sell

Well, this would be 'as well as' - you're always going to get new cars in the GT series, but given that they've captured the driving experience so well, it would be good to see them try some old classics.

Yea, Modern Cars are the way forward

But then I guess racing the older cars and I mean 90's :clock: no sooner would be ok, kinda like GT2's Used Garages. ( We don't want to go too Classic like Vintages and 🤬 )

They could just bring out GT4 and then do a later add-on GT Classic, then those who wanted it could buy it could, whilst others like Rumple and Myself haven't got old cars taking space for new Cars on the GT4 Disc? :floppy:

I like the "Best of both worlds" theme.
Put it altogether in one simple game!
Both old (classic) and new (modern).

(And Sega GT 2002 did just that!!! Scary.)

i'm sure that GT4 would look cool with a classic section inside it, with really cool classic bentleys, fords, chevys, pontiacs etc.

no real need for a whole game.

GT4 needs at least 400 cars!

only 400 cars?! GT2 has even more than that (600 est.)!

Why not a thousand or two with 150 licensed manufacturers and tuners. ;)

i love that idea.

i mean be ble to drive all that clasics,69 camaro's, vette's,cobra's

may you don't like it,but i'm sure a lot of people's would love it too

not an oldie car fan myself but there were some great 90's cars :car: I'd like to see returning to :gt: in the Future as in GT3.. especially :toyota:'s and :nissan:'s..

Classics would be great. Plus, we all know the guy who is impressive in his 72 muscle car has more balls than the guy driving the super forgiving modern 4wd car.

Bring back the shelby cobra coupe and mabye stick a jaguar E type in there for fun as well ;)

Id also like to see the old versions of the tuscan and the griffith in it as well.

There's loads of cool cars from that sort of period.
Merc Gullwings, Corvette Stingrays, Lamborghini miura's, the Maserati Bora, Astin Martin DB5's & 6's etc. Throw in a selection of open wheel Track cars (the Brabham 'Fan Car' & the 6 wheel Williams come to mind as interesting examples) & I think a GT Classic is defiantly doable. Much more interesting than another GT Concept, after GT4.

I agree with that, how 'bout:
CLK-GTR vs. 911 GT1
or
Esperante LM vs. Audi R8

The only thing about :gt: with it's older cars :car: is that you can use the TCS and ASM which is just unrealistic... so when people say they drive well, there talking about the electronic aids unless they're turned off? :D

These could be 'permanently' off for the older cars, in a similar way that you cant add turbos and injection kits to some of the cars in GT3
