It's not really demanded by current traffic, but a separate "riding form" sub-forum for Tourist Trophy might allow the various parameters, etc, to be discussed in more excrutiating detail, with nice, easy to see and understand titles.

I.e. creating such a sub-forum might create the traffic for it. :D

Uh, what would you talk about in such a forum that couldn't be talked about in the main TT forum?

That answer could be used to dismiss the need for any sub-forum.

Having a sub-forum allows people to know where to post and look for particular detailed information. Multiple threads can be created without being "annoying" because someone reading the sub-forum is looking for such detail.

I see there is no bike-settings sub-forum for that forum either. I could see having the two combined into one. There only seem to be suspension tunings for TT, (well, also gear ratios) and the riding-style/position adjustment really represents the "tuning" in this game.

There's some point to what you said. But look at the GT4 drifting forum. I asked Jordan a while back to add a Competition subforum. He initially said it wouldn't work, but after I told him about the frequency and popularity of some of the competitions, and him taking a look at the situation, he changed his mind.

I just have no clue what you mean by a riding forum. That's all. Is it a specific TT thing?

A "riding form forum".

"riding form" or "riding style" is a bunch of parameters you can tweak in Tourist Trophy to affect what your rider does when you turn.

As I say, I think it would work well to lump bike settings and these "rider settings" into the one forum.

Ideally, someone should verify the actual terms used in the game and documentation so that the forum name matches them.

I'll try to do that this evening . . .

I think it uses the word "style" actually, so I've edited the title of this thread to remove the form/forum (mispelling) ambiguity.

"style", "position" and "form" are all pretty much synonyms for what the parameters model.

Now see, after a little push, you gave a good description of the forum and a reason to have it's own place. Well said. Thought I've never played TT, I(and probably Jordan) can now see a much clearer reason as to why you would want such a thing and how it could benifit the community.

So yeah, I can see the value in something like that. But since it is like a "setting" it would be best in the settings forum...that doesn't exist yet. ;)

But there isn't currently a TT settings forum . . .

Sorry about presuming that everyone was buying the same games. :)

I know, but you just made a pretty good argument for one. :)

Meh, if that's your biggest "offense" you'll not have any problems around here. :)

The usage appears to be, from the printed manual, (dummy here turned on TT "just to check the riding form menus", and then played instead, forgetting to check, so I checked the manual this morning) . . .

"riding style" - for the limited preset choices in Arcade Mode
"riding form" - for the more complex configurable settings in Simulation ("Tourist Trophy") Mode
