How affective is the PP limit online ?

Rather rip out my eyes!!
Hi GTP people.
I am putting a little racing club together and wondered if I could use just the Performance points system on its own to limit the cars in the races and still keep the grid equal.
So I though I would make a post and get some feedback from people on there experiences with the PP system.

I feel the PP system does keep the competition pretty even, although recently someone said the tire selection no longer affects a car's PP rank, maybe part of update v1.07. If true, this would be a very unfair advantage unless everyone remembers to mount RS tires. Just remind your club members to make an appropriate tire selection for the race type and length and it'll be fine.
 
I think you can set PP and limit the tyres

Might be wrong, but it rings a bell :)
 
Might be more interesting to limit to comfort soft tires, with unlimited PP :)
 
Just don't mix GT5 race prepared cars with user modified street cars.
 
PP has flaw, power & weight as flaw as well, but they cannot combine...if they can combine we get a pretty realistic regulation system.

This. The PP is flawed. It seems to favor higher weight cars.
