How are time trial cars set up with no fuel use/tire wear?

Well, even though I've gotten golds on all the time trials with the fuel use/tire wear and component failure options off, I've wondered if this is a full advantage or not. When you have tire wear and fuel use off, does it just treat it as if the tires are hot and that you have the lightest amount of fuel in the car? I haven't been able to do a back to back test or anything, so I can't see if they feel different, but could someone shed some light on this?

Great game, by the way, well worth the money. I love that it makes me feel like I'm actually under pressure in the race.

I'd imagine with fuel use and tire wear off that the tires are always in their operating range and the car is as light as it would be with a lap of fuel. I did some testing earlier and couldn't see any difference in the car or lap time. I'd say if it's advantageous to opt for or against these options, your gains will be negligible at best, IMHO.

I'm not so sure about the difference being negligible only because i was on a bit of a mission to imporve my time at canada i had a best of 1.10.565 after serious fine tuning my mclaren. I got a bit bored so decided to have a race there and in second quali i banged in a 1.10.002 but with the same set up and relative ease. So went back to time trial and set it to fuel and tyres on and there is a definite advantage to running real with them i think as i went straight to a 1.10.200 so IMHO there is an advantage to be gained not loads but in F1 they spend millions on 0.2-0.3 of a second plus the car FELT better....

I believe in TT there is no tyre wear or fuel burn off. I have done over 50 laps( on many occassions) with no stoppage, doing hotlaps. However if you go to weekend, there is a choice with these options you have mentioned.

The fuel burn off is blatanly apparent, as the gears will bounce off the rev limiter ,when previously, with more fuel it would not. Also tyre wear shows itself in the car diagram, in TT the tyres are not coloured at all.

Also, I might be imagining things, but it seems to me that I'm able to put in slightly faster laps with the first driver of any team...

haha i actually thought that to but just put it down to coincidence but i suppose if other people notice it...
