For those playing: how are you progressing through the career and are you regretting any car-buying choices you made during it? Are you going linear (as in: following the events in the order they open up) or going straight for the events you want to play?

I'm currently in D-class. Started in E-class using the Evo, bought the Ford Escort for the Ford event, which turned out to be the wrong car for the event. So bought the 2+2 Fastback and this is a great car. Upgrade the tyres/brakes/weight and engine and it's an excellent D-class car too. 👍

I'm progressing fairly linear.

Unfortunately, slower than I want to! I found the AI gets harder at C. AI is easy, if you use Mods on E. I haven't got through D much.

I'm still using my starter car and the only thing keeping me going/light at the end of the tunnel is the thought of buying the gtr and upgrading it other then that i'm not really enjoying this career mode thing. :indiff:

outside of you, nobody wants you to get your baby more than I do because I have been so amused for so long watching your videos and hearing you talk about her.

My fear is that the car may feel completely different from what you are used to and may not feel completely different from all the other cars in the game. Do you have any fear that might happen after you work so hard to get it?

This is the main reason why I'm asking those who actually have the game to post if they feel like the different cars feel like different cars since many of the reviews seem to indicate they all feel the same.

Linear! Bought the Toyota GT-86 as my first car (it’s my favourite of the 3, possibly has the rocket bunny kit as an upgrade, and it had the lowest PI so I could upgrade it to the top of road E a bit more.

Now today I got the Jag SVR from the daily deal, which is perfect as it’s a road D car, almost at the top of it too, only added 1 small upgrade before it was maxed out.

I think I will let the daily deals dictate which cars I will drive. Planning to buy everything with that 20% discount so I will be surprised every day. :)

I drove it already in custom events and in short it wont be replacing pcars 2 but is just for the fun of upgrading it and seeing what different liveries i can put on it. :)

I hate the stingyness with credits. If you accidentally pick a car you don't like you're stuck with it. When you're in an event and go to the garage and upgrade a car beyond the events limits (e.g. E-class event and you put an upgrade on it that makes it D-class) and the garage is locked because no car matches the event. So you have to go all the way back to the main menu, then go to the garage there, remove the upgrade, then go back to the event and then you can select a car again. It shouldn't lock the garage or cars in them, ever. Oh, and a penalty for swapping parts? WTF. Esp. when stuck with a car you don't like you need to play around with different setups.

This is the main reason why I'm asking those who actually have the game to post if they feel like the different cars feel like different cars since many of the reviews seem to indicate they all feel the same.
The cars do not feel the same at all. At least not the ones that I tried, those were all different.

As for my progress: picked the Merc for D-class. Hate how it handles, but guess I'm stuck with it for a while.

I’m not too far along either. Started with the Toyota then decided to get the mustang. Not sure where I want to go from here. Don’t think I’ll stick with e class cars as they aren’t my favs. I like the career so far gives me memories or shift earning stars amd grid 2 multiplayer where I needed money to buy cars/upgrades etc.

I'm staying mucking around in Road E and Custom. I don't want to spend too much time and then after everyone else goes live the 28th there is a patch in the works that wonks all the Career progress I've made and I start over. I saw too many posts that were "lost all progress in Career" in the past. I'm in no hurry.

As terrible as it was for D-class: lose the weight, swap the tyres and the brakes, add a little bit of extra power and it's a really great car for C-class. 👍

I don't understand why it appears the only thing in the game i can do is the E starter race in Shanghai?
And by the looks of it it wants me to grind it 12 times...
So im at a loss now.
I raced for 2 hours 65 miles and i haven't unlocked anything.
Literally the only thing i can do is that race.
No multi-player, rivals, custom, garage, or showroom.
Is this how its supposed be?
I restarted the game and now it won't recognize my wheel either now.
Ive tryed everything at this point and im giving up tonight it seems.
The game obviously needs work yet.

Maybe you downloaded a part of the game and you can only try this while you are waiting for the full download. PlayStation 4 has this feature.

I also have a question. If on my first visit on showroom i choose to not buy the daily deal, is there an other way for me to buy it?

Yeah, just restart the game when you want to buy it, and the daily deal offering is back.

Its been about two hours and now everything seems to be working.
I dont understand why it said the game was installed.
Managed to get the wheel to work too but i had to boot the game with the wheel on & connected with the ds4 controller off.
Idk have faith its a permanent solution, guess thats gonna have to be the sequence everytime i start the game.
