How bout that AI?

Has been mentioned that with 2.02 the AI has been improved and i must concur; my impressions is that their lines have improved and they dont unnecessarily slam the brakes anymore in medium to slow corners (almost coming to a standstill).

I do still get the feeling that when you are alongside a bot all of a sudden he backs off without a reason and lets you go wich is a shame tough, i would prefer that they fight back at least when you pass them...

What are the experiences with you guys?
 
I thought they fixed AI backing off on the straights/turns, but I think I noticed that it's back too :(
 
That backing off when been overtaken is very irritating...
 
Fustrates me that they make great efforts updating the game, but refuse to make the AI really competitive so they give you a run for your money. I find myself having to drive a car at least 50 HP down on them, just so i wouldn't drive alone in the front all the time.

but positive thinking it used to be almost 100HP before 2.02 :)
Game could be perfect with a AI that fights back.
 
Good AI and more events, maybe a season mode, would make this game amazing for me. But AI is just bad.
 
The backing off during an overtake needs to go. Shouldn't exist in the first place.

They are 300% better than GT5 1.00... but still room for improvement.

If you respect the race requirements and doesn't overpower the events, you can have a nice race.

I've raced a slightly tuned Golf R in the Schwarzwald Liga @ Nordschleife, together with Audi R8 and some others and it was surprisingly good.

Yeah, instead they'll slam on the brakes 30mph slower than normal when you're directly behind them mid corner, for no reason other than it's you and you're gaining faster than they expect(even though you've been following them for a half-lap the same distance behind). Then you'll have no choice but to slam into them sending your car into a huge tailspin that costs you several seconds to recover from.

You'll then catch back up and manage to get fully alongside going into a corner without having them park and so they'll shove you off to the inside grass. You'll survive this and edge in front coming off the corner and then they'll slam into your rear quarter panel and shove you completely around until you crash into the wall entering the next corner backwards.

All the while they'll be driving in the middle of the road to make it hard to pass, rather than taking the racing line. :)

Maybe if you do not tune the suspension and brakes to your likings, but if you do, racing them with the same HP i always end up 10 seconds in the lead when the race finishes wich makes it quite a boring race (like with Vettel this year in F1 ;) )
 
LOL maybe the could add hockenheim and when you are leading the race your engineer will come over the radio saying F.Alonso is faster than you.....
