How can I drive an X1 with a G27 and prevent my wheel from exploding ?

Ok, it won't explode, but the wheel makes the kind of noise a wheel shouldn't make. It's almost as if the motor grinds inside "himself", or something like that.

I tried with a feedback of 1 (wish we could put 0) and it still shakes like crazy.

I've read here, a couple of months ago, that people broke their wheel with an X1 if I'm not mistaken. Any tips ?

Thank you.

I believe FFB is powered like a DFGT on that, so plug it out and there will be no FFB. 👍

Yep I do exactly the same with the X1

I drive with FFB on 10 with a DFGT :dopey:

Even with a X2010/11

Unsure of what to unplug.

The plug, you need the USB plugged in for the PS3 to get steering input..

If u don't like it with no force feedback like suggested, try turning the power steering on in the options menu, that will loosen the wheel up considerably when driving with the X1

1) in game controllers /steering wheel menu ==> TURN OFF POWER ASSISTED (this is culprit to awful gear clicking in g25/g27)
2) make sure simulation is set to ON
3) set FFB to 7 or 8.

car tune: change those awful default toe settings, to something like -.06 / -.10
soften front springs a bit, soften the extention dampers, lessen the front downforce, disable all aids, including ABS, LSD 40/25/12 for firmness
and don't take sharp turns in high rev. might want racing hards or mediums, instead of the velcro softs.

now you one armed toddler can pilot it.

Hey Ben,

Yes, the X1s were very hard on wheels. I used to use FFB on 1 as my G27 would not work if it was unplugged from the power. There was an incredibly violent shaking to the wheel at top speed and certain tracks. There was an update to FFB not to long ago that pretty much cured these issues. Since the update I have actually increased the FFB from 1 to 8 and have no issues with the X1. I would recommend against using power steering with the x1 as you would lose all feel of the car in the corners making it difficult to drive.

They are wheel breakers.

My g27 works fine with the power cord un-plugged. Just leave the USB in the ps3.

But I avoid them. Just a novelty really.

Again, yes there were issues with strong vibrations, but the ffb was fixes via a recent update. I wouldn't want someone to avoid using the X1 based on old information.

Some of the best racers on gt5 enjoy driving the X1. You either love it or hate it. Guess how I feel about it.

It's not that I like the X1, to be honest, I prefer stock cars that have less than 300 hp. I wanted to use the X1 to shorten the Laguna Seca enduro, but it shook too much and also want to try the Vettel Challenge.
