Iv'e noticed that most of my standard cars have paint scratches and I wondered if there was a way of getting rid of it without restoring the car back to zero miles and wasting a ticket and my time breaking it in again to gain max hp.

Car wash and body rigidity restoration does nothing.

The reason I'm asking is that some of my cars are painted in a DLC paint chip that I payed Sony for and now there full of glitchy type scratches.

Just feel a bit ripped off. Anyone know how to get rid of it or is it here to stay?

Already tried the search function and found nothing. 👍

Erm, what? There is no damage in GT5 that stays after a race, anything you're seeing is just imperfections in the old, low quality model.

Washing the car clears up any persistent "damage" marks that I've ever seen. Never heard of anything that lasts beyong that. The car's shape deformation is restored as soon as the race ends, and any scuff marks or mileage dirt or stuff caused by whatever else causes those marks is gone after a wash.

Maybe your cars are just uglier than you thought they were? ;)

Either that or you have your own personal glitch.

A pic would help here. But yes, like everyone else has already pointed out, no permanent damage continues to show up after a race is finished, just the "dirt", which goes away after a wash...

I get a lot of minecraft-style grime building up around the window frames and the micro-quadrilateral style corosion around the wheel arches just won't go away.

Maybe we need the Stig:

Some say that he has square teeth made of an exotic alloy...

...and that he has often been spotted eating the rubber seals on car windows and chewing the odd wheel arch..

...all we know is - he's the Premium Stig's standard brother.

It's funny but what does this ad to the OP's question?

You can also check the sharpness settings of your tv. If it is set to high it can make your game look really bad. As the tv is adding information to the output, if for example i take an standard car and have the sharpness at one or 2 it looks fine, as the output of the ps3 is already sharp enough. But if i set it to high i start to see lots of artifacts that shouldn't be there.

You need to wash the car. It isn't scratched, it's just dirty.

Amazing how people just don't read posts before they reply.
