How can I turn off the "Red Shift Signal"?

Whenever we enter a corner with higher speed than needed, there is a flashing red shift singal to warn us the speed is too fast and to break and change gear. Can I turn off this function? I find that I depend on it for breaking because it is the time to break after 5 flashes.:dunce: I want to do the break on my own judgement, not on the signal. I can't ignore the signal.

No one knows?

No, you can't deactivate it.
 
Yeah I agree... that is the most stupid thing they did by not making this optional. It is completely a crutch and it's impossible to not pay attention to it. I've actually started just taping a piece of thick paper over it to hide it. Ghetto, but it works
 
Well, it's a tip from the game in what gear you best enter the corner, however, if you go faster through it in higher gear, the game remembers it and shows the next lap the gear you went through the corner last lap.

I hate it too but somehow it's a good reminder in short races...
 
I hope they have this sorted on the next update because the "real driving simulator" isn't so real when you've got the mother of all driving aides telling you when to brake...

Come on PD; we were able to turn this off in GT4!

I believe this was never the case in any of the GT games
 
The gearbox suggestion (i think that's the official term) is annoying me as well. I hope PD will add an option to turn it on or off.

Not only that, it also flashes the last time where you are braking as well.

Actually, in GT4 it can be turned off by changing the HUD to "simple" in the options menu.

I think it is very easy to ignore especially after using the 200, 100, and 50m marks before turns for so long. If they don't exist on a certain track I will pick something random like a tree or a mark on the road as the spot to start braking.
